Well, for the one you remember, try to settle with them to delete the item off your credit report, I mean you might as well get something out of it, there is not much use for a 'paid collection' and it isn't much different then an unpaid one. Plus, if they don't remove it, it will be there for a whole new 7 years when it could be falling off a lot sooner. As for the medical ones, demand to see the actual patient records, everyone signs something when they see a doctor. They could be completely wrong or they could be mistakes that can be easily cleared up and off your reports. If they don't respond, drag them into small claims court just to get your point across. (Thats what I am gonna do in January)

I've spoken with my boss and he knows I participate here although I am not sure of the extent. I don't reveal company or client information so I don't see any problems. Not all collection agencies or their agents are bad. Many follow the rules and regulations, you just don't hear about it as often because no one really likes to write about their good experience with debt.. I just try and use what knowledge I do have to help others.
