If its a wrong number why wouldn't i just say wrong number and hang up, I have no reason or desire to carry on a conversation with someone who is calling a wrong number, more investigation should go into a phone number search before calling, I have had this number for 6 years.
If I know its a wrong number calling I don't have to explain anything to you, and that's not being rude, it's just none of your business. Do better research

I got off the phone with those ACS goons this morning in tears. I knew they were just using tactics to scare me and intimidate me and thank God I didn't give the guy I talked to (a "Mr. Smalls") the benefit of knowing he'd made me cry. They told me they were going to pursue legal action and refused to even hear me say that I was trying to pay, but couldn't do the full amount, I had to pay in installments. He said, "okay, I'm putting you down as a refusal to pay." He said that he was the head of the legal department and had no supervisor. I filed a complaint with my home stat's atty. general and also with Pennsylvania AG and I suggest everyone else does, too. You can file with the PA AG online. People make mistakes and shouldn't be treated like crap when they're trying to re-pay debts in good faith. Thanks.

I just had a call from "Amber Brady" from ACS this morning at my place of employment. She started the conversation saying that I had a "complaint filed against" me. I thought a guest filed a complaint. She then stated that I owe Citibank $1610.00. She also stated that they're removing all of my interest and late payment fees for a total of $1200.00. If I could pay it all today the total would be $1127.07. I informed her that I could not do that and that the current account was in a debt relief program via Genus Credit Co. She then informed me that Citibank doesn't accept 3rd party debt relief. However, upon review of my citi statement I see that the company has indeed accepted the payment. Is she lying? Should I take the account out of the program? She asked how much I could afford to pay. I told her I could only pay $300 now. She then said my only other option would be to pay 3 $379 payments, which isn't bad, but on top of my car loan, rent, credit program, insurance, student loans, I can't afford that. I told her I would call her back today to let her know what I could afford, but I don't want to be harassed by her just because I can't meet the $379 payment. I know I owe the company, however, this is why I have enrolled in debt relief, I'm not hiding from my debt. I genuinely want to pay it off. Should I work with ACS or stick with the debt program?

JRH, Citi will take any payments you (or someone on your behalf) send in. What the Debt Rescue companies do not tell you is that collection activity will continue. You will still charge off and depending on the amount owed and where you live may still be persued through the court system of that state. If Citi says you can not pay $100.00 a month, the Debt Rescue company will not be able to pay $100.00 a month on your account either.

Does anyone know if they can add interest to
your account???? They keep adding it to mine.
I talked to a lady today and she insisted that
the only way I could pay them back was by
giving 3 post dated checks. I asked if there
was somewhere I could send a check each month.
She wouldn't even try to work out a payment
schedule with me. She just wanted me to pay
like $5000.00. If I had it, would I have this
problem???

So can they add interest to your debt?
Can they collect from another state? I live
in MN.
Thanks!

I have also been receiving these phone calls from Academy Services. They think that I am Michael Licudine, whoever that is. I looked up Michael Licudine on the internet and the only one I could find was a 16 year old boy that had died in 2005. It seems like alot of these people that Academy is trying to call are dead. Anyway, they have called me at several different numbers, but the most frequent one is 1-800-220-0605. They tell that it is regarding an account that I have with Academy Services and it's urgent that I return their call. They also tell me to ask for Paul Roberts at extension 4176. These calls happen amazingly often - 2 or 3 times a day. I just keep hanging up. It sounds like that is the only thing that I can do because others are saying how they call Academy back to straighten things out, but Academy just gets rude and still calls.

I have been receiving calls from a Mr. Paul Roberts x4671 about an unpaid account . When I called him, he wasn't available. The young man that I spoke to continually asked for my SS #. Yeah, I am going to give that to them. He could find nothing on file by using my name or address. After going through this for a while I asked for a manager and was told they had the wrong phone number. I hope this is the end of it.

I'm am currently dealing with Academy collections also. I am trying to take care of my credit, so I was given their number to call and settle my account. Well they lady I spoke to Monica Russo ext. 2587. Demanded to recieve payment the same day. She wanted me to pay my phone. She gave me a settlement of reducing my bill from $8,000 down to $4,000. I was thinking this is a good deal. I was going to pay the $4,000 by mail not by phone, because they will take all your money in the bank or max out your credit card. Never pay by phone!! But luckily my uncle is an accountant and he told me the credit card I orginally maxed out and never payed is forwarding it to ACS and only paid maybe about $500 for this account and is trying to make $3,500 off of me. So I made an offer with Monica Russo for $1,000 and they still refuse to take it. But I think they will give up and take it. I advise all of you to act like the bigger man and you make the offer and stick with it.

My husband has an account currently with Academy. It has taken them almost a month to send us a first notice. This is his last credit card in collections from a period of unemployment. The other 3 have successfully been paid....by the CA's. Got them all on violations! Tape recorder is always plugged in and ready to roll when that PA area code 215 shows up on the caller ID!!

I have received a call a day from these people. Very tough leaving messages! First a "Frank Carroll" called me and said that I should call before it goes to court. Then a "Bill Mazur" left a mean message... read a speech first...

4u215 - It appears you are looking for a company - possibly this Academy Collection. This site in not affiliated with them in any fashion, so I am to guess you came upon us through a search. To request a debt verification, you will need to contact them directly. Page one of this thread gives some contact phone numbers. Good luck!

Ok.. I should probally be in bed cause tomorrow i have to go to work and deal with dead beats all day long. Yes I have a sh*tti job, but it pays my bills and i make good money. No i do not agree with some of the practices but after doin the job am inclinded to agree with them. You people need to realize that the real reason for these problems is because so many people just flat out are ignorant to us. You get the people that lye. You get the people that answer the phone by saying, "What the F*** do you want?" I mean not to put anyone down, I enjoy my job for one reason only, it pays my bills. I understand alot of you are under stress for one reason or another, i've been there, but you have to realize that we listen to lyes and broken promises of payment for 8 hours a day. You had 6 months before the account was placed in our office to show (with payments) that you want to resolve this. If you haven't made any attempt to do any thing towards YOUR bill, thats not my fault. The only thing you can do to better YOURSELF is to pay it. Honestly i can give to sh*ts if you pay or not, i cleaned my credit up. I own my home mortgage free, i drive a brand new car and im onl 24. so scumbag that! you people say you cant pay your bills, i always ask this; (1) do you have cable in your home? cable in america is still a luxury, if you can afford a cable bill then you can afford to pay this debt (2) obviously you all can afford internet service which again in america is a luxury. think about that for a minute. We get forceful because we see your credit reports, we know you have open lines of credit avail to you that you are choosing NOT to use. thats a refusal to pay. i am extremely pleasant on the phone and take sh*t from people that work and have 2 incomes and live with there parents and still claim not to have the money. Its a crock of sh*t. Yes im fowl mouthed but im very professional at work. all i see in this forum is people tryin to find ways to make someone else pay there debts or find legal ways of getting out of paying it them selves. thats my own opinion. if im wrong im wrong, won't be the first nor the last. I believe most of you have hardships, but keep in mind that the real dead beats made it this way with the lyes and all the BS. we have a job to do and we will do so WE can pa our bills.
