I've been receiving calls for a couple weeks for someone named Mary. I have repeatedly stated they have the wrong number and to take me off whatever list they have me on. Today I get a call from a "Frank Carroll" (caller id states it's ACS from 215-320-0424.) He tells me "Mary we're going into litigation" to which I cut in and said, "This is the 5th or 6th time I've told you you have the wrong number." He screams back, "Well you didn't tell ME you mouthy little ****!" I drop him an f bomb. He comes back with, "are you trying to threaten me you cocky little ?
****!" He continues to SCREAM at me, I tell him to eff off once more and I hang up. I immediately get three more calls from this same number and I don't answer. I get another one right away from what caller id tells me is ACS from the number 267-240-6934. Now some of you ACS employees have been posting here. How about doing a little research on your phone calls and try to match the right number and name? Uh, it's really quite simple to do...hello?! And how about admit making mistakes? It's obvious you call wrong numbers often but oh no, we're lying! I've had a fun afternoon filling out complaints with the AGs of Mo and Pa and with the Nat'l Do Not Call Registry. Oh boy I could have all sorts of fun with this!

I was harassed and screamed at by an Academy employee - she was horrible - I then spoke with a Dawn Carver after calling the original creditor - they gave me the person to call. She was very understanding and I have been making what feels like another house payment every month - but at least it will be paid off. The first lady - I believe she was Lynn (can't remember) called and harassed all of my other family members - screamed at me to pay my bills - we weren't trying to avoid bills - we had been making payments - due to a medical emergency we missed and were thrown to LVNV and then for some reason it went directly to Academy. Anyhow after account is paid I will be sending Dawn a nice letter and finding out who the original rep was who had my account and complaining to all governing agencies about her.

I too got a phone call from this company on Friday morning. I did not make it to the phone so it went to voice mail. Some guy by the name of Nick Marshall left a message saying he was calling for a Tracy Buckman (not sure if spelling for first & last name is correct). The number of the caller ID came from 215-320-0424. Nick stated he was callng for Tracy Buckman and that this person need to call 1-800-441-6881 In reference to File # ******** (I am not going to put the file number on here). Nick stated he will be available until 2 PM today & that this Tracy Buckman better call or else.

Well since there is no such person at my number, I deleted the message. I will not call them back because after reading the things that I have, I am not going to put myself through hell for something that I have nothing to do with.

BTW, I want to make a complaint with the BBB but when I went to the website, I could not figure out where to file on their site.

I got a message from the people at 1 800 220 0605 (x 5730) without a name to identify the voice. He was calling to try to reach my ex who had listed my parents as his "business associates" - does this call mean that my ex is in financial trouble (would not surprise me) or that something from the past has caught up with him? or could it be that this company is just trying to capitalize on people with poor credit records???

I have been working with Bill Thomas from the Academy Collections and he has been wonderful. His voice is cheerful and encouraging. He seems to truly understand financial hardship and is willing to do what he can to help you out. My experience with this company has been the best experience I have had with a collection agency, and I have had a few. If you aren't rude to them, they won't be rude back...Think about what they have to deal with all day...

And by the way, it doesn't matter if you are on the Do Not Call list. That is for telemarketers. These people aren't trying to sell you something. They are trying to get you to pay for something you already bought. I have learned my lesson. If I don't have cash in hand, I don't buy it. Buying on credit doesn't work, just lands you where all of us are...in collections.

Don't be angry at them because you didn't pay your bills. Just be willing to pay them at some point so they can have the chance to be nice and work with you.

...asking for someone with a very very similar first name (but yet different) and the same exact last name as someone who is in the household. When I said, no there's no "xx" here, but "yx" lives here, did you want to sepak with her? Gentleman with accent said no thank you & hung up. Had to *69 it as we are getting some weird calls and emails lately.

I get these calls all the time on my caller ID but no messages are left. I do not have any loans with any banks, other than my mortgage, which is always paid on time.

I received a call from 1-215-320-0424 two days ago. As I didn't recognize the name (ACS8002200605) I was waiting to have the party leave a message so I could respond if I recognized the caller. For some reason who ever was on the other end failed to hang up once my line picked up. I tried to get someone to respond, but it was as if they called and then laid the phone down. My line was tied up for 2 hours!!!! I had my daughter call the 800 number on her cell phone & she spoke to a woman who would not identify herself and was extremely rude. I asked to speak to the person who again was extremely rude when I explained to her that the company was tying up my home line. She asked my name & number & said that she didn't have any record of me so it wasn't possible that they called us. I asked her if it wasn't possible how did I get the number(s) that I was currently calling???? She wouldn't give me the name/number to a supervisor or give me any info on why she was calling my number either!!!! She hung up on me, so I unplugged all my phones at the suggestion of QWest for 10 minutes to disconnect my home line from these people. Well they called me yet again at 8:00 am & the same scenerio took place!! After reading other blogs on this page it appears that it may be a relative that these people are trying to contact, but I can't even find out who because they won't deal with me since I am not the party owing the agency. Any suggestions as how to deal with these nasty folks?????

I keep getting calls on my cell phone from these people.
I know I don't have any debts, I'm a freaking teenager.
How can I get them to stop freaking calling my phone?
I can only reject the calls.
And it's getting up to about 5 calls a day.

ACS has been calling our home for over a week now. They keep leaving messages for "Roland Carion" who I've never heard of. I tried calling them back at the phone number they left, and told them that they had the wrong number. They said they'd remove my phone number from their list, but a new person keeps calling every day. They call around 8:30 a.m. every morning and today they called at night also. I'm glad I found this forum so now I understand that they are a collection agency, but they obviously have a lot of their facts wrong and don't think twice about harrassing people -- even the wrong people!!!
