877-225-1118 this number from Allied interstate – still continuing its malpractices?

Allied Interstate is a collection agency which has made its presence felt through all sorts of wrong reasons. It has become a regular phenomenon for Allied Interstate to violate Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), the set of laws governing the guidelines for collection agencies.

Some of the common malpractices and harassing techniques used by Allied Interstate are:
  • Calling family members, relatives and friends of the debtor and threatening them over phone.
  • Making calls to the debtor on a regular basis without prior permission.
  • Wanting to settle debt issues without documenting it.
  • Using abusive languages while interacting with the debtor.
  • Allied Interstate have made it a practice to contact wrong person and who actually don't owe any money to anyone.
  • They review credit reports without any prior permission from anyone.
  • Allied Interstate make threatening calls to a debtor throughout the entire day up to 9 pm.
  • They also have the tenacity to harass a debtor throughout the whole year.
  • Allied Interstate will call you without leaving behind any contact numbers or email address. The only thing they leave behind is their mailing address which again is doubtful in many cases.
  • Follow-up with C&D (cease & desist) letter is absent.
Most of the above mentioned malpractices are violating FDCPA rules and hence you can sue them if you are facing any such problems from Allied Interstate Collection Agency.

In many cases it has been observed that they have called or contacted such person who doesn't owe them anything. But don't ignore the calls because they can go to any extent and may also drag you to the court. In such a case, Allied Interstate Inc. may take advantage by highlighting the fact that you never responded to their intimation and ignored the debt account. The best way to tackle such call is to send a debt validation (DV) letter to them and ask them to verify the debt. Also check whether any negative information has been entered in your credit report. If Allied Interstate fails to validate the debt then you can send them a Cease and Desist (C&D) letter to stop their harassment and they are bound to follow it.

It has also been observed that Allied Interstate collection agency is harassing people over a debt which he never had and also reported it in their credit report. In such a situation they can ask the concerned credit bureau to validate the debt which they are bound to do within a time-frame of 30 days. If the bureau fails in the same then the harassed person can ask the bureau to erase, rectify or update his/her credit report.

Default 877-225-1118 this number from Allied interstate – still continuing its malpractices?

Hi

We know that the business of FDCPA laws by a CA results legal action and the consumers can file a class action lawsuit against them.

So what happens when there are shady collection agencies like Allied Interstate Inc still in business? They call people endlessly without any details of the debts and show rudeness. They go against the Mini Miranda disclosure as mentioned in Section 807(11) of the fdcpa. The company is also famous for false representation of the accounts. You can be forced to pay some unknown account because of their wrong contact. Remember, "Allied Interstate" can be sued up to the $1000 depending upon the extent of damages.

I read many of you being victimized by this collection agency. Use the federal laws as a protection against such shady collection activities. Report them to the FTC, BBB as well as the State Attorney General office.

How many of you want Allied Interstate Inc to undergo legal actions. I am thinking of consulting an attorney and put a legal fight against them. I will like all of you to post your experiences here so that it can be documented. After browsing through this forum thoroughly, I picked some threads of their illegitimate business.
  • The illegal activities of Allied Interstate. The poster in this thread said that the company wanted to settle the matter without any documentation. This is illegal.
  • Allied Interstate making threatening calls to the family members. It is illegal as per the FDCPA laws.
  • Here is an example of Allied Interstate not identifying them and making regular calls at work.
  • This collection agency uses profane language and gets in contact with the wrong person.
  • Allied Interstate will try to force you and make a payment on the debt that is past the SOL period. You are under no legal obligation to pay the debt if it is past the SOL period.
  • One more thread about the misdeeds of Allied Interstate Inc.
  • This company does not identify properly while leaving messages on the phone. They keep calling endlessly.
  • Allied Interstate never stops. They contact persons who do not owe any money.
  • Allied Interstate reviews the credit reports without permission.
  • A thread on bombarding phone calls done by this collection agency.
  • Threatening calls starting from early morning and ending just before 9.
  • Allied Interstate harassing whole year
  • Here is the contact address and phone number details of Allied Interstate Inc.
  • Calls get disturbing for someone not related to the accounts.
  • People are getting fed up with allied interstate and their calls. No phone numbers, no e-mails just mailing address but not sure whether it is proper or not. Contacting them is really tough.
  • Confusion is still there on LVNV Funding and Allied Interstate.
  • Allied Interstate Inc not following up with the cease and desist letter.
  • Getting empowered on how to deal with Allied Interstate.
  • Harassment with "person to person"

A new thread on Allied Interstate contacting a wrong person.

Default Allied interstate Collections - summary page

Thank you David for this information as we just received our first phone call from ALLIED INTERSTATE INC last night on the answering machine. Had to play the message 5 times to understand who was calling and after researching on the web found out it was a collection agency. Since neither of us owe anyone money, we do not plan on returning their call. Because of your information, I feel less guilty about ignoring them, since we have only had this phone number for a little over 6 years.

Default what type of business is allied interstate inc?

Hi Tamara

I will suggest you not to ignore the call of allied interstate collection agency. You will never believe how fraudulent their actions can be if you sound ignorant to them. Companies like "Allied Interstate" make wrong contacts with the people and even go to the extent of taking the matter to the court. Since you never thought of a reason to talk to them, Allied Interstate Inc will take the advantage and prove in the court that you were ignoring the debt account.

My suggestion is to fight back with this company and get the reason for which they are calling you. Check your credit report also to verify if they have hit your file negatively. If they don't have a legitimate purpose, you have a legal case against them.

Default Allied Interstate Corporation - Tamara and Other Victims

Once you have been contacted by Allied Interstate Inc or any other collection group who is making a pest of themselves, get their fax number, and fax a letter stating you deisre further contact to be via mail since they have abused their calling privileges.

In the event they call thereafter, and they generally do, get in contact with the main account holder and kindly inform them their collection efforts have violated the CFDA and you want the debt expunged off of your record.

This approach can be put with a legal effect. Under the federal laws, everyone has the legal rights to refuse contacted by a CA over the phone. A cease and desist letter works the best in this regard. When it is clearly mentioned in the letter that no further correspondence should be done over the phone BUT IN WRITING only, Allied Interstate Inc must abide by the laws. If they further contact, it will result violation of the federal laws and you can sue the CA for each violation.

Default Allied Interstate Inc

I was just sitting here at the computer and typing my newest book when the phone rang and of course i have the caller ID sitting right here in front of me. The name came up UNAVAILABLE but the number was 800-440-2843 when I called the number back they asked if this was "Meghan Beam" of course to get out of talkint to them I said no, and asked if there was a message and they said no just tell her to call the number that you just called. I told them that I would not give her the message if they did not tell me what company was calling and he said "She should know we have called before" I told the guy on the phone that I have no idea and that I needed the name of the company once again this time yelling at him because he yelled at me first. That was when he said "ITS ALLIED INTERSTATE INC" so that was when i typed the name into my search engine and this post came up so I wanted to leave a message. The guy would not even tell me what city or state he was calling from all i have is the phone number and no name.

Default Allied interstate inc continues its malpractices

Meghan

Latest data in US show that out of all the people being contacted by collection agencies, Allied Interstate makes the maximum number of contacts. Most of these contacts are either for the wrong person or for a disputed debt. It is very rare they have a debt that is correct in all sense.

If you want to resolve the matter using your legal rights before this company hounds you, I will suggest you to know the purpose of their call. They must validate the debt in writing. Without this information given to you, they can't attempt collections as per the federal laws state.

I assume that the debt for which they are doing collections is age old. You will be able to straighten the matter using your legal powers before Allied Interstate tries to tarnish your credit file.

Default Allied Interstate charged me for debt

Allied Interstate sent me a cell bill for a Sprint/Nextel cellphone. THere is one problem. I have never owned a Sprint/Nextel phone. Nor have I ever received a bill. THe son of b__ even posted the $23.06 amount on my credit report.

This is after I telephoned them and told them that I never had a Sprint/Nextel phone nor received a bill.

I flat out told them I wasn't paying it.

For my trouble and the fact that they posted the amount on my credit report, I filed a compliant with my state's Attorney General's office and also filed a dispute with a one the credit report agencies.

How dare this company try to ruined my report that I have worked so hard to keep clean.

THe bas__ds.

Candy, were you able to remove the negative remark from your credit report? I guess you were! This is the problem not only with Allied Interstate but with all collection agencies in the industry. They can go to the extent of hurting anybody's credit file without legitimate purpose. Allied Interstate is the worst of them. They mostly purchase all the disputed and age old debts. In your case, it just happened the same. You were cautious from the beginning and were able to catch their illegal activities. If your future lenders would have seen this negative remark before you, it would have damaged your credit potential the most. I am hoping you were able to remove this item from your credit report. You can take legal actions against Allied Interstate for illegal reporting in your credit file. The FCRA laws will offer you the legal guidance in filing a case against them for each fdcpa violations.

Default should i call allied interstate inc back???

Hi i just received a phone call from a Mya at Allied Interstate Inc i tried to call back and some women kept asking me for my phone number and wouldnt give me any information. She kept asking me for the number that i recieved "Mya's" call and when i told her that this is the phone that i received Mya's message (apparently my job number does not come up on caller ID) she told me it was the wrong number, i then asked her AGAIN "what kind of company is this?" and do u know that
b%*#h hung up on me!! Should i call them back? What will happen if i don't? My credit score sucks already and i am working on clearing items off of it but i refused to be harrased. I have been working on paying off all my credit cards (down to 3!!!) in monthly installments through citibank. i do not want to deal with a collections company, i find that they are rude and tend not accept monthy paymnets. I am sure that the debt they are inquiring about is at least 5-7 years old, probably an old cell phone bill. maybe they are trying to beat the SOL? What should i do?

Default Any negative remark by Allied Interstate Inc?

Tamara, check the latest copy of your credit report and see if Allied Interstate Corporation have hit any negative remark. If Allied Interstate has reported anything, it must have a legitimate reason. You can call them to inquire the reason of hitting your file. Incorrect information must not be reported in your credit file. If nothing is there in your credit report by AI, there won't be a need to call them back. If they call you, ask them to validate the debt in writing.

Default What about me?

I've begun getting calls from this scum collection agency called Allied interstate inc. However my situation is different. I'll sum up: I'm filing for bankruptcy as my earning potential in the past year has dropped sharply. Anyway, I'm filing chapter 7 and my lawyer, who I have on retainer, won't fully file until they get all of their fee (understandable). Anyway, they have told me to basically duck all the calls until the lawyer fee is paid and then answer the calls and refer them to the lawyer. Should I worry about these Allied people doing anything to me? I mean, with a bankruptcy pending my credit's about as bad as it can get so....yeah.

Default Request validation from Allied Interstate Inc.

How long to collection agencies have to respond after they receive your letter requesting validation? Allied received mine over two months ago. Received nothing from them. Now Allied Interstate Inc are contracting out other collection agencies to collect for them.

Default validation letter to allied interstate

I believe, their is no set period within which the collection agencies have to validate the debt. But if this debt collector has reported in your credit file without validating your debt, it needs to be disputed immediately. Inform the credit bureau with this item highlighted and they will check the accuracy.

Default same experience with Allied interstate inc

I have the same experience. They call my mom's endlessly. I have tried to work with them, but Allied Interstate Inc is totally harrassing and it is becoming annoying. I also have been hit for a Sprint bill I have never had. When I requested a copy of the bill they told me it would be sent to me, but never was. What can we do about this? I mean I have HAD IT!

Default send the cease and desist letter to Allied Interstate

Nancy, has your mom sent the cease and desist letter to Allied Interstate Inc? This is a federal law that can actually force them to stop contacting you and your mother. They might be mistaken with the person they are looking for but they need to stop calling you after you have explained the facts. Don't allow them further. You can build a strong legal case against the CA as per the laws put in the FDCPA8. Start recording the phone calls also after verifying your state laws. You will like to make your case stronger every way and count their fdcpa violations.
