Kamesha, you're right, your don't have to call them, and you don't have to give them any information at all. Save that message, because they broke the law by telling you that if they didn't hear from you by noon, they'd be taking "legal action". The person who left this message probably has no idea of what law is to begin with. Send them a partial cease communications letter (certified return reciept) stating that you'll only be dealing with them in writing.

Hello if peple would just pay there bills you wouldnt get the phone calls from adc am i the only normal person. People think its okay to get credit cards or sell avon and just not pay if you are getting phone calls all the time from this company pay your bill its as simple as 123......... : Evil or Very Mad

If you want then to stop calling you write a letter to Avon and pay what you owe if you don’t know call ADC ask for what the settlement is and you account # and send a check to Avon. By law if you tell ADC not call you at this #, you filed for bankruptcy, or that person has passed on, Put me on the do not call list or that person does not live here they have to take that # off the list and if not you can sue them for harassment and you will win. Really don’t pay any attention to any thing they say is all scare tack ticks. And if you don’t pay your debt for 7 years if falls off Automatically that really is the worst thing that can happen. Other then the phone calls. I wouldn’t pay that company a dime and I worked there. I’m sorry for what some of you go through from that company.

I received a message from ADC to have my attorney contact them. I called them and spoke to a lady and made payment arrangements with her. I still kept getting multiple calls with no messages. I called them and asked for the rept I spoke to before. They said she no longer works here and transferred me to another woman. She was very aggressive and rude. I told her I had already made payment arrangements. She kept trying to get me to say things. I think the conversation was being recorded.

She asked me to make a payment for a large amount of money I didn’t have. I told her I couldn’t afford that kind of payment. I also told her I had been laid off from my job and was diagnosed with a tumor (which I’m worried and scared) and waiting to be scheduled for surgery. I tried to tell her I was concerned about the flexibility of the payments in the in event things don’t go well. I offered to send her documents of proof.

She said, “Why are you telling me this? I just need a yes or no answer. You have until noon tomorrow or I will take your file over to the legal department!” (This was last week.)

I made the mistake of calling just before a job interview –which did not go well being upset by the call. The doctor told me to try to keep my stress level down. The calls have been upsetting interfering with my job search and affecting my health in general. I plan to send a C & D letter but wonder if I should include any documentation or what should be included in the letter. I would appreciate any suggestions.

I keep getting a call from these whateva they are and don`t know why ....I`m guessing I owe a bill . Ya know what ? They can keep calling and they are goin to keep getting the answering service... hehe they might as well get in line with every other debt collector cus if I had it , it would get paid . They can`t do anything to you but continue to bill you so hey carry on .............that is why they invented caller id. So don`t sweat it ....I know for a fact the reason they are soo rude is cus they get paid for whatever they can get you to pay and by being rude they think it will work . Ever heard of herassment !!!!
So all in all I am Happy and I will not be bullied or herassed so call away and God Bless you ! Very Happy

My husband and I bought a house in August, and with the move we had to get a different phone number. Since day one, we have gotten harrassing calls from this company...NOT FOR US, but for the person that had the phone number previously. We have explained that they have an incorrect number. At first, we were VERY cordial about it, and was assured it would be taken care of and they would remove our number from their calling list...here it is February, and we still get ATLEAST ONE CALL A DAY from this company leaving HARRASSING messages on our VM. I finally had enough yesterday and called Miss Wilson, who was the representative that left the most recent RUDE message. When Miss Wilson answered the phone, I started out being very polite with her, but her tone, her demeanor, and her utter lack of respect, was unbearable. It didn't take long for me to start yelling and cussing at her...I'm sorry! I was PISSED...and I shouldn't have to apologize. For 6 months, my husband and I have tried to explain to this company (Allied Date Corp) that they have the WRONG number and we DO NOT KNOW the people that they are trying to locate. Miss Wilson, "politely" (NOT) informed me that because I was yelling at her the way I was, that she will continue to call my house, EVERYDAY, whether it is an incorrect number or not, because she gets paid by the hour, and she doesn't care...she was so completely rude and the manner in which she spoke to me, NOT BEING THE PERSON THAT THEY ARE TRYING TO COLLECT FROM...EXCUSE ME? What awful business practices. I'm sick and tired of getting these harrassing calls, day in and day out. This company is TERRIBLE and I can not believe that they can get away with it!

I just came home on a sunday afternoon to the same pre-recorded messege as mentioned above. I can't believe they have the nerve to jack with people on a sunday. Fantastic business ethics!! So glad I jumped online to check them out. Now I can just delete the message and go take a nap!!
