I just came home on a sunday afternoon to the same pre-recorded messege as mentioned above. I can't believe they have the nerve to jack with people on a sunday. Fantastic business ethics!! So glad I jumped online to check them out. Now I can just delete the message and go take a nap!!

I have to laugh because so many people have posted about oweing money to Avon. I too owe them $135.00 which I offered to pay but they refused my payment and still are making rude phone calls. Plus as many others have said when you call there number back no one answers on their end. Also I pulled my credit report and they are not on there. I have decided to just ignore them. Good Luck !

I too, got that pre-recorded message and they identified themselves with "this is ADC, saying they were going to make a decision about me at noon tomorrow gave the number (1-800-275-7176 ext. 609) and if they did not hear from me, they would be making the decision without me.
Needless to say, I called right away curious as to what "decision" they were going to be making on my behalf but they were closed. Glad I didn't reach them and now after reading your posts, I will not be answering any calls from them again.

yah, this company may be annoying, leaving messages with threats to make desicions for you if you don't call within a certain amount of time, but, it is concerning a bill you owe because you took advantage of your credit and or quit paying on a bill you agreed to pay, And obviously this works, all of you that have received these messages, even though you all write how pissed off you are about them, and in the back of your minds,are a little worried that maybe you will have to face them in court. If you call them back, without this attitude, because you know you owe something otherwise they wouldn't be calling, they are actually willing to work with you to get your bill paid off. Life is way to short to stress, and worry about these kind of things, You put yourself into these situations, deal with it, and get yourself out by doing the right thing, why hide for the rest of your lives, no fun in that!

I have been harrased for months. All I have asked for is a bill - then I will pay. They said they mailed me a bill in 2006. Oh - I don't have it but should remeber it and pay them their whopping $77.
I have been told something was sent and never got it. Now they say it is looking like I am stalling even though I had been answering the phones to these iditos trying to settle this - I even answered the call and before the very rude Ms Smith could say anything called her by her name. So I was working with them and very aware as to who they are.
She told me to go online and look them up if i thought they were a scam and would not mail the payment without a bill.
I did and look what I found claims of them being ascam . JUST WHAT I THOUGHT!
i hung up she - knowing I was at work - called me back 3 times. I am done with them. Try to sue me for $77. I am more then willing to pay this debt that was not even mine (a roomate who I let use my credit card.) But if they want to be this rude and not even let me work so I can pay them then they can go to he##.

ok for various reasons some, young irresponsibility and a huge amount of medical i am in debt and by luck of the draw these idiots have been charged with obtaining it. because of an accident i was in and the fact that my work didn't want someone in a wheelchair on the floor (total discrimination-but thats for another forum) i lost my job and got WAY behind and never was able to catch up.

i went to one of those no profit consolidation places that say they will stop the creditors calling and get rid of all of your late fees. well i made payments to them in good faith for several months. then all of the sudden i had third party agencies calling me. this one in particular. After talking to my bank and getting back in touch with the card companys i owed money on, i found that they had not been consolidated or charged off at all, but that just a small(less than the minimum)payment was being made to each indavidualy. Intrest still racking up untill they had finaly handed them over to thrid party agencys. Only a small prtion of the money that I was giving these people was being payed to the balances. So they did waht they promised i never again got mail or statments anymore that would have allerted me to the fact that my balance was not being payed i just gave money away to thes crooks untill i was eventualy passed off the the next set of crooks ACD. it really made me wonder of these people work together .
well i decided to try and make the best of it and offered to make a 300 dollar payment (i owe over two thousand) and the lady wouldnt take it she said and i quote " 300 dollars means nothing to me you owe **** if you cant get it you need ot get someone else to give you taht money by end of buisness day or this is going to the next step" i asked waht the next step would be and she replied "it treally dosnt matter just know that we are not held to the same laws and standards as a the people who handed us this debt" frankly it scared the crap out of me. It makes no sense to me that a legitament agency would not want to take whatever a debter was willing to give them. better to get something than nothing right?

i guess at least we know now after "HAMMERS" statement about phsicaly attacking someone to collect a debt what "the next step" is. i can hardly wait. Ss someone who was recently the victme of a violent hate crime I have learned, practiced, increased my strength and armed myself with the knowlede and tools to protect myself or others and if one of thes guys comes at me they are going to be the ones with serious debt...emrgency room bills and a lawsuit for agrivating my pain and suffering. so f@!* u Allied Data Corp.

I also got a call from allied about a bill.I answer their calls when they do call because I do intend on paying what I owe.Today I called.The lady I spoke with first was Jessica White.When I would not agree with her about post dated checks she automaticly said she will pass me on to go to court for refusing to pay.Which I never said I was refusing.Then she hung up.So I call back and she hung up 2 more times.Then I finaly got someone named Mr. Ivy.He was refusing to give his first name.I would to if I had treated people they way he treated me.Telling me I knew nothing about the legal field when I in college for Criminal Justice.Telling me that I needed to change schools because I knew nothing.These people that work for Allied Data is so rude and need to learn people skills so bad.But I guess I would act that way to if I knew my life was not going anywhere but a low paying call center job.

I agree that these collection agency strong arm tactics suck. Especially when I receive a call from these people regarding a debt that my ex recently incurred and we have been divorced for over 10 years. How do they associate me with that? But I also have to say "pay your debts and the calls will stop". If my ex weren't incurring bad debt then I wouldn't be getting a call. You took out the loan. Now be a real person instead of a low life and pay it. Allowing these debts to go unpayed drags down the whole economy. We all pay for it.

Yesterday I received a call from Allied Data Corporation.
The call came by way of a tele-computer. I ignored the call. I received another call today. I actually called them back by the number noted on my cell phone. It took FIVE calls before they told me that they wanted Robert Morris. My number is a cell number. Robert Morris apparently had this number three years ago. (THANK YOU, AT&T). The cell number has been my number for TWO YEARS. I have received three calls from Allied Data Corporation. The last caller, a male, told me to expect to hear from him EVERY day. After all, he has my number. So...PLEASE FLOOD ADC's numbers with calls. I have called them five or six times today to waste their time. 713-481-1844 OR 281-558-7176. I've talked to them about the weather in Texas, the weather in my state and anything else that could be a waste of time. I want them harassed like they are harassing me. My goal is to talk to everyone working at ADC. They think I have nothing better to do than take threatening calls from them. I certainly don't sound like Robert Morris. I am a FEMALE. Help me out and call them as many times as you possibly can this week. THANK YOU FOLKS!!!!!!! John Benson is supposed to be the Director of this company. Dear John, I have been trying to paint my basement today. Now, I'm having fun talking to all your wonderful employees. IF I can't get my work done, then why should any of you!!!!!!

I have told these people that when I quit selling Avon I owed them nothing and have asked and asked how and where this balance occurred. Nobody seems to have an answer. Tonight this woman calls again from 281-558-7176 and informs me they are going to call me EVERYDAY until I pay money I don't owe.

I know they are out of Houston and they cannot do this, as they are bound by Federal Law and Texas State Law under the FDCPA ..I just don't know how to enforce it. Any ideas?
