I too have received these calls over avon. My problem occured when I sent them the checks in the mail (4 post-dated)and I had too close my account. I called them over 1 week before the date on the first check several times only to leave a message telling them the situation. I also stated that i would have to take care of it another way. Now they call and hang up if someone answers and will only talk to my machine. I needed the address so I was looking it up on the internet and stumbled on this site. I am glad I am not the only one who feels this way about adc and their "practices". They have left me messages letting me know that if I do not pay by Nov. 30 that the TX prosecutors office will be contacting me on Dec. 1 to take me to jail for trying to write a check on a closed account. I will be sending that out regular mail and taking my chances because I can't see paying all that money to western union it or priority mail it for them. They are not worth that much. Funny thing is though there is no extra charge for the check being returned from the bank like every other business in the USA. You see the signs in every business in America. This is why I started to get curious and they will get my check in 5 to 10 business days.

These people are the worst. They have been harassing my mother for 6 months and SHE HAS NO OUTSTANDING DEBTS AT ALL. She has never even ordered anything from Avon. ADC are a scam!!!!!!!!!

I have been harrassed by these rude fools for over a year. Often times they leave a threatening recording and once in a while speak with me in a very rude, condescanding and threatening voice.

I've had enough of their BS. Since they will not disclose why they are calling or how they got my name. Enough is enough. So they are in TX, Thank you for the information. I'll be sure to include them on my correspondance to the following offices:

I too have been getting calls but no one leaves a message telling me what it is regarding....most places if they want you to call back leave a reason & to whom you should call....Not threats and say or else with no reason as to who or what they want....Not to mention had been calling the wrong #....just found out by accident that they had been calling....and decided to look it up to see who they are....

These people called me on behalf of Avon. They could give me no information on my account what so ever, just that I owe about $100. The girl asked me " If I could do dat?" I can not bring myself to pay someone so rude and idiotic.

I have gotten several hang ups from a 713 number. I finally called the number back today and was informed I owed Avon from many years ago. I informed the representative I filed bankruptcy an included them in the filing. She got very rude and informed me I had to forward them the information. I am fortunate enough to have the court papers still showing Allied received my notification of bankruptcy. I called my attorney to file a complaint as what Allied just did was breaking the law!

You need to contact ADC to inform about your payment. Their address is listed at the first page of this thread. You can search bbb.org to enquire if they have any additional contact address.

These guys were kinda hateful to me too. I returned their harassing calls and offered to send them a money order for my past due balance, but noooooo! How dare I offer such a primitive form of payment. Now I have to send them a western union payment, a 12.95 fee! all over $117.75. grrr. stinkers.

Always enter into an agreement before you pay them and ask for the receipts against your payments. If they receive the money and do not report back to the OC or keep quiet when it comes to report with credit bureaus, no one can help you then. And what if they come up with some unfair claims again in future?

Ask them to send you some written documents first. You can send DV through certified.

After recieving a call from Allied Data in reguards to my Husband, I went on to research the company and found this site. My concerns were they did not contact us directly, but contacted a sister, half the world away. They left no message other than we were being sued and had 24 hrs to call them back. Luckily i stay ontop of our credit reports and knew we owed no debt in reguards to this company or nor did they purchase a debt in reguards to my husband. After reading the posts here, as a business owner myself, I decided to contact Avon Corporation notincing alot of the posts were in concern with old avon accounts. I explained that now unpaid debts were defiantly being put at the risk of no collections ever being made due to the paractices of the collectors they chose to use, and forwarded a link to this site to avon to see how they were doing the buisness "in the name of the all american avon company" I included my response back from avon, and hope this may help some of you and many in the future from even have to deal with this company.

You have done a great job I must say. This will make it clear to all if ADC is doing something unfair or not. I appreciate your move on this matter.

Just an FYI, collectors can contact your relatives or friends only for a verification purpose. They cannot disclose your debt obligations and financial situations to a third person, this is considered to be a violation of law. You can file complaint against them if they do so.

These people just called me tonight 1/30/06 and said that if I didn't take care of my old Avon account, they would bring legal action against me tomorrow morning. I haven't received mail notification or anything. The female that I spoke with told me I should have never given the products to the customer, I made bad decisions and said that my husband would be responsible for my debt. She was really, really nasty. I got into it with her and ended up hanging up. I called my old district manager and she gave me the heads up on what I owed so I decided to call back and speak with the female's supervisor. My name must have been all over that office because when i spoke to the supervisor, he didn't ask who I was or anything and then me and him got into it and he tried to talk to me like I was an idiot that didn't know what to do and how to conduct business.

I'm not sure if I should pay because something is fishy about this company. The debt is true and valid for a little over $300 but then to pay it I was given an 800 number that was restricted from my cell phone and when I called from a landline phone, it said I needed to call 101515800 and pay $4.99 to be directed to a directory assistance line to get information about the 800 number.

Someone please advise!
