I was just asked to assist my childs High School cheerleading team by writing a letter to solicit donations from local corporations to assist with the cost of replacement uniforms and camp. Has anyone out here ever tried to write a letter like this and can offer some advice?

With the economy the way it is right now we are trying to offset the cost so that more girls feel like they can try out for the team...

Any help or advice would be appreciated.. I am searching the net for sample letters too!

When I taught High School I solicited donations for sponsors of our Go-Kart racing team. It was quite successful.

Thanks!! I am going to try to put together some type of letter to send out. I will PM you if you wouldn't mind giving me some feedback and pointers when I get it ready!
