They provide no benefits to clients joining a credit- counseling agency unless the account is originally with Providian. With these ex- Providian accounts, the APR is reduced to 0% and all fees are stopped. Also, if a proposal is accepted by Providian and sold to Arrow, Arrow will accept the dollar amount that was originally proposal to Providian. Providian will mark an account as charged off when it is sold to Arrow. Otherwise, for a proposed payment to be acceptable to Arrow, it must be an amount that can pay off the balance within 24 to 30 months, but can be no less than $50. If an account was sold to Arrow by any creditor other than Providian with a minimum payment amount that will not pay the account off within 24 to 30 months, Arrow will call the agency and request an increase. Once an account is sold, Arrow issues a new account number. Their account numbers are 8 and 10 digits in length. If the account number is less than 8 digits long, please add zero\'s in the front until it is 8 digits long. If it is 9 digits long, please add a zero to bring it to 10. They do not contribute to fair share under any circumstances Arrow Financial Services is both a collection agency as well as a Debt Buyer. They provide no benefits to clients joining a credit counseling agency except if it is an original Providian account. With Providian account, they will lower the interest rate to 0% and stop all fees. For an acceptable proposed payment, it must be a proposed amount that can pay off the account within 24 to 30 months - minimum proposed amount is $50 Their account numbers are 8 and 10 digits in length. If the account number is less than 10 digits, please add 0\'s in front of the account # to make it 8 or 10 digits long. The company does not contribute to fair share.

The CEO of this company is Jack Lavin. They generally buy your old debts for almost nothing. Then they go after the unsuspecting consumers with the usual threats of litigation, seizure, garnishment, etc.As a customer I've faced difficulties in dealing with them because sometimes they make false statements and fake orders, too. They sometime send cease-comm letters too.Having a contract with them is the toughest problem in life.So you should better avoid them.

I am very hesitant of deaing with them due to the fact they are not the collection professional I have dealt with in the past. I have been FORCED to do something I didn't want to do because instead of payment being sent to them, I sent it to CitiBank instead and I am forced to pay more in intrest. they are uncooperative. What I mean is they were asked to send a copy of the payoff to Citibank and they are refusing. If they would I would have payoff of the debt. I hope I will not be SCREWED! If I am.........

Avoid Arrow like the plague! They use borderline illegal tactics, threats and intimidations to collect debts - even on people who do not owe anything. They tried to talk me into agreeing into the accepting a payment settlement offer on behalf of my husband who was not home on a debt he did not owe. They also called me several times only to hang up on me. Spread the word - avoid these sharks!

Default Arrow is a nightmare

This company is slimey and unethical. I really think they should be investigated because their business practices can't be legal. Not sure how to get my debt away from them.

Hi Stressed

Did you file a complaint against them at the DAs office and the FTC? If their illegal action is not reported, then they will continue with these types of illegal activities in a full fledged way. .

Please let me know if I can assist you in solving your queries.

Regards
Roxette

And they were gone after 30 days ... Then i think

Two years (!) Later they reported me on transunion

Sully,

Just be a bit cautious while dealing with them. If you keep avoiding the calls, they can cause serious damage to you. Please have a look on how it can be done.

http://www.debtconsolidationcare.com...ollection.html

If there is a past debt that needs attention, discuss with them and ask for debt validation. If they give you false information, you have the right to dispute it. This dispute can actually protect you from all the unnecessary legal actions.

I hope you will give a thought to it.

Regards
Roxette

kad3eagle,

Contact your original creditor and the collection agency who you paid the amount. Don't you have any proof of your payments, like receipts from the collection agency, check stub etc? This could help you at this situation.

Also file complaint against this collection agency that is harassing you and your family. You must know that third party debt collectors should maintain some decorum set by FTC under the laws of fdcpa. They cannot harass consumers while collecting debt. Contact BBB, FTC and AG's office of your state and report against them. Keep us posted.

I am working with them now. I have a balance of just about $800 from a charged-off credit card and have agreed to pay $100 per month until it is paid in full. I have done this via electronic payment for three months now without any trouble. This month, I knew I would be late with the payment so I called, spoke to the person I had been dealing with and he was fine and noted the account.

I am sure everyone has a story, but thankfully, my experience has been positive. AF provided validation upon my request and was very good when coming up with a payment plan. They have also provided all agreements in writing.
