Hello.
Has anyone had to deal with these people? I have started a debt consolidation plan as I have become very sick and unable to pay my bills. I have tried to add all the people I owe but this one will not give me a valid US mailing address. They want to contact my employer for wage attachment. Can they do this? All the other creditors have agreed to the payment plan but this one. Can anyone help me?

Hi jnmeads, welcome to the forums. You did the right thing by registering with this website- this is a very supportive community, and you'll find a lot of good advice here. Since you registered, a debt counselor should be contacting you shortly to talk to you about your situation and the options that you have so you can get started down the right path. Payday loans are illegal in North Carolina, by the way, so I'm assuming most of your loans are internet payday loans. Why don't you tell us a little bit about your situation- who your loans are with, how much you've paid so far, etc. We look forward to helping you out!

Hi Nena, welcome to the forums. You should register with the forums as well, this is one of the most helpful places ever. Cash Transfer Centers is the same as Sonic Payday, and unfortunately are not an easy company to deal with- but it can be done. These are the most recent addresses I could find:
300-433 Maint Street
Winnipeg, Manitoba
Canada

500-259 Portage Avenue
Winnipeg, Manitoba
canada

And the phone number posted is 1-866-867-6642. Visit this thread concerning CTC/Sonic for a bunch of info on them: http://www.debtconsolidationcare.com...ut3377-28.html

As for the wage assignment- send your employers a wage revocation letter, and let them know you have not authorized anyone to deduct anything from your wages. Sometimes, that's a tiny little clause the PDL companies hide in the fine print, and they can;t enforce it. Send a copy of the same letter to Sonic/CTC. Do they still have access to your checking account?

Has anyone heard of these people? I believe that I have overpaid on my account of $500 since they are taking out $90 every check for the last 4 months. I live in NV. Can someone tell me if I could dispute this charge and settle? Per the Nevada laws, there are no limits. Please let me know.

I had bass and associates call me and tell me that this case was being downloaded into the system as we speak for fraud. They will not tell me anything at Bass and associates about who what or when. They told me it was my place to keep my loan docs. I asked for a copy so that I could see that it was me. However they refused, told me to hire an attorney.
I want to pay this but you know, I thought I had paid this in full months ago. Had to get bank to freeze the account, owe them lots too because of charges. I tried to get them to stop debits but could not locate them.

Hi Tammy, welcome to the forums. Don't rush into paying this because they're threatening you. After reading some of PinkLady's posts, it looks like Bass and Assoc. may be the same as Interstate Wire/Pre-Litigations, who are in no way an above-board collection agency. A collection agency is required to respond to your request for debt validation, and you did the right thing by asking, especially if you think you've already paid this off. If you legitimately have a debt with them, they should be able to send you something; and don't agree to any payments over the phone, since these people are apparently scam artists.

Tammy Bryant,

Have you tried to call the place you recieved the PDL from to verify what collection agency is supposed to be collecting?

I tried and they sold it to a company called I-Collect and in turn they gave it to bass & assoc, who say they are litagators, funny thing to me is it really litigation when they hang up on you. I asked for debt validation and copy of papers, because I know that I paid them months ago before my injury that has caused me a lot of time at Dr's and hospitals. Not sure what to do now, but threats from them are to download my info into the judical system in nc, where I live and they have advise me to obtain an attorney. I just want proof that I still may owe them something, seeing I have record of payments.

You said you paid them months ago, who did you send the money to? Was it Arrowhead Investment? Did you try asking them about the payment you already made? Are you sure it was a payoff and not just somethings towards prinicapl? Just trying to figure why they would try to collect on something that is paid off. These people are so shady and they need to be shut down. I've had my share of conversations with them and I will admit they scared the crap out of me when I got the first phone call. Thank God I was broke because I would have probably been and idot and sent them some money.

I too have been contacted by this company stating they bought my loan debts from other companies and they now were in charge of getting payment from me. He said total amount was 3,800.00. I finally was able to get the names of the companies that he claimed he was representing and none of them rang a bell as to the companies i had the original loans with. He also threatened me that they would be filing internet fraud charges on me and i should get an attorney. I'm not sure what to do now because it seems like all of you have had negative encounters with them also. Any advise would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Lusby,

Know your legal rights and don't get intimidated by these companies. These companies try to scare people so that they can make their money very easily. If Arrow Investment has bought your debt, they are legally bound to show these debt details in writing. They must prove their authorization to collect for the debt. Be sure they can't take any actions against you before they correct their lines in the legal way. You should file your complaints at the AG's office for their violation of the federal and state laws. Keep yourself informed about the legal rights and use it as your legal cover, don't fall weak in front of them. Read the fdcpa thoroughly and know your consumer rights.
