It was one of my friends who was in debt and went to them. The company address is,

7027 Miller Rd

Warren, Michigan 48092

(Branch offices in Baltimore, San Antonio, Cleveland, & Brandon, FL.)

But then,he has faced a lot of difficulties and extra trouble for depending upon them.As a customer's friend I would not suggest you all debtors to go for this.

These people are experts in harassing the debtors.Though they claim to have a through check up after you join them, but never ever they do so.One of my uncles once went to them for some help, but poor chap,he had to loose more than he thought of.

They even break the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) sometimes which is bound to throw you into trouble.

An address I have for them is:

asset acceptance llc
P.O. Box 2036
Warren, MI 48090-2036

I'm just checking this company out right now. My husband received a notice from them today saying he owed $800 for a phone bill. But there's no way. He hasn't had a phone in his name in over 16 years. So either it's identity theft or a scam.

I plan on calling our local phone company tomorrow to check things out with them.

Hi Guest

You can individually lodge a complaint with the FTC and report them of the unfair practices that Asset Acceptance has used most commonly.

The authorities will investigate your complaint and will take necessary action for the prevention of the consumer rights.

You can also file a complaint in your state attorney general office to take stern action against the said company for violation of the law.

Regards
Roxette

I had a phone bill, they sent me a payoff letter so I paid the payoff amount. They cashed the check, never updated the acct on my credit to show it was paid. I disputed it with the credit bureau, when it came back to them, they said I claimed fraud and gave me the run around. Thankfully I have learned to keep the letter, the cashed check copy and put all IMPORTANT information on the check. They finally after a few weeks released a paid letter. I "supposively" have 2 other accts with them, too old to list on my credit. I told them that I will not discuss anything else other then this one acct. they tried to use the fraud and asked me if I was sending in a police report for the fraud AFTER I got a letter that this acct in question was paid. I dont bother with them now. They call from a 800# that is a recording.. forget that!

I had a relativly good experience with them, they let me pay $25/ mo. as postdated checks. finally after two years I got a lump sum back on taxes, so they settled with me for 54% of the remaining balance. Very nice people there (3 total that I talked to at different times). I wish that they would take over my Palisaed account! UGH! I hate Palisades

Sounds to me like some type of ligitimate mafia backed by the court system. They roam from state to state buying debt add fees on put you on a payment plan.sounds like some new world order. If the the people that you owe money to feel they can't win in court and don't have a case they just hand it over to the asset acceptance.remember the government is broken why should you question if your state is broken.

Asset acceptance is a piece of crap company ! PERIOD ! The people that "work" for this company are idiots ! I have read 1000 websites about this company... if you notice the ARE THE ONLY ONES that have this many complaints. They LIE all the time !! They tell you after you pay your debt they will delete it from your credit report for you!! THEY LIE !! You ask them for all original documents (WHICH IS REQUIRED BY FEDERAL LAW FOR THEM TO PROVIDE OR DELETE ACCOUNT) and they cannot find them so they send you a fake document. They are a bunch of bottom feeders and ARE going to burn in hell ! They are the NUMBER ONE reason why america is falling apart money wise. People like that ! companies like that ! The ONLY reason they are still in businesss after soooo many complaints is because you need to get alot of signatures on a piece of paper and file a class action lawsuit ... which I am compiling at this moment !! If you fell victim of this company email me whenever you can... (email address removed by Shazzers per TOS rules) LETS FIGHT THEM TOGETHER !! they can burn in hell...

any time u pay asset u need to wait 21 days for a pif unless u do a money gram or western union, thats why it toook so long for the person here to get a pif, as for the reporting we report to the cbr with in 30 days of the payment or settlement, its up to the cbr companies to update your credit file as that has nothing to do with us, most ppl are not up to speed on the collections laws and policies of a company and fail to take the time to pick up a phone and call our company and ask what our policies are and how we report and what time frome they are looking at!

So you work for Asset Acceptance? You try to make your company sound innocent? Well let me tell you....

I recently got a collection letter from your company for a credit card I never had, from a bank I had never heard of, back in 1997, claiming that I owe just under $1000. I have only used debit cards until recently (and even now I only use what I can pay off in a payment and never have to pay interest).

#1 this would be well out of the Statue of Limitations, yet your company evaded that.

#2 when I asked for verification your company just sent me something on your letter head stating the original company and the amount I allegely owe. No dates, no breakdown, no statements and NOTHING fromt the orinal alleged collector. This was presented to me as validation. Nice try but no cigar. That is not validation.

Perhaps since the orignal alleged collector (as my research shows) went out of business nearly a decade ago it is difficult for your company to provide validation under the FDCPA and so you try to trick me into believing this is validation and I owe you $1000. Sorry not that stupid. Your company on the other hand are as others said: bottom feeders.

I am a former employee of Asset Acceptance. I don't know if this will help you out, but on April 1, AA is set to lay off around a dozen employees in the Compliance/Legal department. Many of them are expected to be workers in the Quality Assurance Department. In other words, these are the very SAME people who are supposed to be monitoring the collectors so that they will not continue to violate your rights!
Also, you should all know that people in the QA department have REPEATEDLY complained that their reports against offending collectors have gone unanswered! In other words, the QA folks say, "Here are the violations we found!" and the supervisors and various powers that be basically say, "We can't hear you!"

For the past 6 mos or so these people have been calling me and asking for all kinds of different names, never my own name. i have zero unpaid debt. When i complained, they said they cant talk to me without an accnt number. I DONT HAVE ONE, as i dont have unpaid debt. What's up ? i called, PUCO, FTC, and finally, FBI, for illegal business practices. next, my phone company to have them blocked,it can be done.

It is interesting to see these posts on here. I began working for Asset Acceptance on 7/6/09 so I am still being trained. I definitely didn't want to work for this copmpany, but have been unemployed since March. Everyday as I learn more, I get more and more of an uneasy feeling.

So far this week, I haven't heard any thing or seen anything that would lead me to believe anything was being done wrong, but then again, I could be very wrong.
