Does anyone know of any banks out there that i can open up a checking account with? i live in PA and have 2 things on chexsystems that i am currently paying back to the bank through a plan...i live in PA if that helps

also, is chexsystems 5 years for removal? my one item should be dropping off in august if that's the case, though would that still be if i was still paying it off?

Yes, every item recorded in the ChexSystem stays there for five years. Even if you pay off the debt it will stay there for 5 years (i.e, till August in your case) but will be updated in your report as "paid in full" or "settled in full".

Many times paying on the debt owed to the reporting bank(s) will update the account being reported and it will take 5 years from the date of the last payment made.

What is your zip code there in PA?

Yea WoodForest would be a really good second chance account for you there. It is a good bank and they are very friendly to those reported to chexsystems.

If you are not reported to Telecheck, then I would suggest trying Univest Bank.

Name of Bank
Univest Bank

URL
http://www.univest.net/default.asp

Form of Verification used by bank Telecheck, they do NOT use chexsystems

Special Notes
DOES NOT USE CHEXSYSTEMS

-They also have second chance checking for those reported to Telecheck

They also offer second chance checking for those that don't qualify for a regular account
They do have automatic 1000.00 overdraft protection even if your credit is not good
Membership Information:

Email From Bank 11-20-08 To verify information provided when opening a new account Univest utilizes TeleCheck and Equifax.

and yes WoodForest will approve you even if you have been reported to chexsystems and telecheck and even if you still owe the reporting bank)s) money. They don't care and they are very nice too
