Well,

I just found out that I have opened a checking account at comerica and they use chexsystems to verify. I was just about to write a check for a bill does any body have any suggestions on what I can do? Is it wise for me to open an account at another place?

How can I find out who has inquired into my chexsystems file?

the reason I'm asking is because I have ipdls and that's why I had to get away from my previous account.

Chexsysytem is used by banks to see if you have had any prior bad experiences with other banks. Example if a bank closed your account because of over drafts. If a bank reports you to chex it is hard to open a new account anywhere. Usually companies do not look at chex

The reason for the question was that after reading some of the posts and checking MCA's website, some of the IPDLs use chexsystems to see where you might open another checking account. MCA if you get a chance could you give me some type of insight?

If you want to know who has looked at your report or reported something to it, request a copy of your report. You may have been approved if your chexsystems report does not indicate a lot of bad negatives. They may have made an exception.

I requested one yesterday. I know I am currently not in Chexsystems but due to ipdls with my old account they said if balance isn't paid in 10 days they would report me.

Try to negotiate with them and stop them from reporting. There is not a whole lot you can do to stop them from reporting you. Which bank is it?

Chase bank, when I pleaded with them to close the account they said no and it continued to be debited by ipdls. I wrote a letter asking would they at least reverse some of the late and overdraft fees to give me a decent chance at paying them, no response yet.

Definitely get a copy of your chexsystems report and see exactly what it says .. dispute with both chexsystems and the reporting bank. As far as finding an account, where do you live?
