I faxed my app. yesterday. Called today. Did my deposit over the phone and was given my account # and routing # over the phone and I just signed up for online banking my deposit is already in there. They said my card would be sent out tomorrow. This seems like a great bank to deal with!

STEP 1 – Open An Account
To open an account with Transportation Alliance Bank, fill out an Application. Fill in the blanks, click the submit button, then print the page, sign it and mail or fax it to us so we can begin processing and opening your account. Once your account is open, you will have access to all of our bank’s services, including FREE online banking, Online Bill Pay, 24-hour automated telephone banking, and Flying J discounts and rebates.

Note: We must have a signed application (by mail or fax) to open your account.

STEP 2 – Fund Your Account
The BEST way to fund your account on a regular basis is by Direct Deposit of your paycheck. With Direct Deposit, you’ll get Online Bill Pay for FREE.

+ Direct Deposit Request Use this form to notify your employer (or other source) to begin placing deposits in your new account automatically.

The FASTEST ways to get your account funded and started are found below:

+ Make deposits using 3rd Party Checks: ComCheck, T-Chek, EFS, TCH-Check, or even Western Union®. These are considered guaranteed funds and are available within an hour. They can be done 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by calling our customer service department.

+ You can send money from an external bank account by wire. You will have same-day access to your money.

+ You can request money from an external bank account by ACH transfer, which you must set up before hand. You will have access to funds within two business days. 90 days after opening your account you can apply for Transportation Alliance Bank Express ACH , which gives you access to transferred funds within one business day.

+ You can also buy a Flying J gift card at any Flying J and call our customer service department to deposit that money into your account.

+ Or you can just mail in a check (with a deposit slip).

Once your account is funded, you can view your account balance information or make transfers anytime online or via our customer service department. When you receive your card, just call to activate it and begin using it anywhere MasterCard® is accepted. Cash can be withdrawn at any ATM where MasterCard® is accepted, including over 160 Transportation Alliance Bank ATMs conveniently located in Flying J Travel Plazas nationwide.

STEP 3 – Access Your Account
Setting up your Online Banking Account has never been so easy. Go to our homepage. On the Secure Login section in the top left corner of the page, you will see boxes for your User ID and Password. This is where you will enter that information, once you have set up your Online Banking Account. To set up your Online Banking Account click on the First Time User link below the User ID box. Then enter the requested information to verify your identity, and then choose a User ID and Password. Then use that User ID and Password to log into your account.

STEP 4 – Order Checks
To order checks for your account, just call our customer service department at 800-355-3063. A customer service representative will order your checks for you. You can go to Harland.net to see the different styles of checks you can order. The cost of checks, which varies depending on the style, start as low as $10 for 150 checks. Delivery takes about two weeks.

After avoiding checking accounts for over 2 years, I have applied for this one. I guess we'll see what happens. My credit union pulls credit reports for their accounts, and that's what stopped me from getting a checking account with them. The fine print on the application you sign for this account also says a credit report will be pulled. Confused

I think they just pull the credit report to verify your identity. I don't think they look at score or anything.

Goudah is exactly right, most banks will do at least a soft pull for identity purposes ( especially accounts that are applied for online ) After 9-11 The Patriot Act requires all banks to be certain of identity

Well, just an update - I never had time to call to see if I was approved for an account with all the hustle and bustle of Thanksgiving this week.

I received a letter in the mail today congratulating me on my new account and inviting me to fund it and instructing me on how to do so.

So this is a strictly online kind of banking account? Particularly a checking account. Because I've seen lots of online savings accounts, but those are different and you have to have atleast a real bank account to connect the two....

yea I think you could call it an online account, but you do not need another account to use TAB. I do believe going with a bank like USAA, ING, FSNB or TAB that should definitely set up direct deposit to make it the most convenient. Smile
