Nope. CHeck out your local credit union. They usually do not check checksystems. You coudl also google "non-chexsystems banks" and there are a few good leads on non-chexsys banks. One thing to consider is this...bofa would be more inclined to open a checking account but to be safe, go to bofa and open a savings account. No checking account. Go to paypal.com and link your savings account to your paypal account and there you have a savings and checking account. In 6 months, you will be able to have a checking account with bofa.

I have had my Wachovia account for 2 years now and they haven't questioned anything. I have two records on chex and they aren't paid. Both show NSF activity. They have been a great bank for me.

Wachovia will make exceptions in most cases. I do think the only time they may have a problem is if there is fraud reported on the report.

Dear Customer,

Thank you for contacting Wachovia.

We do make exceptions in most cases. Please call us to apply for a
checking account.

Yes Wachovia will ignore without even asking or questioning most Chex entries as long as they aren't Wacho's..

HOWEVER. As I personally experienced, they are ignoring and overlooking Chex for the sake of their own lovechild creation Early Warning Services.

Be advised if you have had past trouble with a MAJOR US Financial Institution, they may have left you in Early Warning and that's a damn shame.

Good Luck..

A word of caution: Wachovia does run new accounts through Early Warning Services (formerly PPS) within 30 days. If you are listed in EWS, you may be shut down by loss prevention/risk management. LP usually runs the reports within 7 business days of account opening.

Thanks unclewulf....and considering the latest losses reported by all major banks, I am fortunate to still have my job.
