I have gone through the same thing with several different banks. They are all a joke! I think Chase is the worst of all because they do not care at all for their customers!! My husband and I have opted to go with a pay roll visa that is reloadable. I can't tell you how wonderful everything has been. You can't juggle your bills like you would by staggering payments with checks, but we have never paid a bounce fee either. Our paycheck is automatic deposit and we use it just like a bank card, there are free atms too. I was always careful with my account, but I made mistakes too. I had a teller explain to me once how they do it. Even though you see money in your account, they wait until you make a deposit and then pay the biggest check so that all the little ones bounce and they can charge you fees. It doesn't make since to the bank to pay all the little stuff, because then they can only charge you one fee for the bigger item. This is how they make their money. Do what we did. People need to take the power away from the banks, then maybe they will start to listen to what people really want, and more importantly, need. Good luck in the future. I hope things really work out for you. Don't let this get you down! One more thing, if you say you suspect fraud on your account they HAVE to freeze any activity!!

I am currently in a dilemma with BOA, with their overdraft fees. It amazes me that they can charge you overdraft fees on things that at the time you had money in your account and then all of a sudden overdraft fees start coming out. They have caused me to get like 7. has anyone had any luck with writing the CEO. I have went to the branch and called the number and pretty much they say not a bank error. At the time I used my debit, I was in the positive then all of a sudden today, I am hit with the fees.

I doubt that the Corporate office will help you with this but you never know. Have you tried to talk to the branch manager? Unfortunately BOA does not treat customers too well in these situations. it seems you are just a number.

Yes I have spoken with the branch and can't seem to get anywhere. I have been doing some research and I have seen where some people have been able to get charges reversed. I know one time I had a charge that was listed and the next day it was removed, then the next day they put it back. I explained that to the local branch and he kind of looked like what, but still nothing done.

I am currently fighting with BofA. I closed my checking account in May and in July there was a charge that went through on a card, that I did not authorize. I was charged an NSF fee and then five days later charges another NSF fee. The day after I got the notice in the mail I went to the branch and they had already tacked two charges on my account. They said that they charge another fee every five days but they don't send out the notice until the 5th day. How is that fair. If my account had been open I would have noticed the charge earlier but because it was closed I was not watching the account anymore. I asked them how they open up a closed account to put a charge on there and they said because it was a card they assume that it was authorized. Can they open a closed account and file all of these charges?

Thanks

Wow, thanks for the numbers. I will be calling because they stole $200 from me. The ATM machine did not dispense the money and it came out of my account. The ATM logged the error and they should have known at the end of the day if there was $200 extra in that machine. I was told that in 45 days they will come to a determination if I get my $200 back that they flat out stole from me. I am on a fixed income and that is my grocery and medicine money. To add insult to injury, the teller wouldn't let me take money out of my account because my ID expired a few days before on my birthday. This despite the fact it was obvious that it was me on my picture ID. So in essence, they are keeping my entire paycheck hostage for no good reason. I just can't have my money at all! I can't access my money through the broken ATM and they will not let me draw money out of my checking account. This is an absolute nightmare. Even when I explained how this will affect me, they didn't seem to care. Even when I told them if I can't get my medications I can die, they didn't care. They basically are holding my entire social security check hostage. Then they stole $200 of that and I don't even know if I will get it back. I did nothing wrong, as I had $750 in the bank and all I did was try to pull $200 out so I could buy food and medicine.

Help! BOA promised me a $150.00 credit but only gave me $39.00, when I called to say whats up, they say there is not note of that anywhere, and basically too bad. This is not fair, can't they go and see who made the $39.00 credit? I have spent hours on the phone and just get transferred to someone else. They said I was getting that credit and I want it!

Someone has to say it.

No one is fleecing the working poor with fees. Pay attention to what you're doing with money and things like that won't happen. Blame yourself and stop whining.
