I was approved with Suntrust as well, but i went into the branch and the manager approved my account even with me being on Chexsystems. That was in April, so far so good.

Early Warning Systems ( previously Primary Payment Systems ) is now being used by banks and credit unions the same as chexsystems. Along with other participating organizations, they now share information about potential customers that may be a risk through Identity Check . Identity check distinguishes high-risk individuals from profitable customers the same as chexsystems.
Several organizations have partnered with Early Warning Services to help increase awareness and make the following services more accessible to credit unions. Here is a list of partners they are in collaboration with currently. As you can see this includes many, many credit unions that were once chex-friendly. CO-OP Financial Services who is listed as a partner with EWS also signed a multi-year contract with eFunds Corp(chexsystems) April 2007. Because of this many that are reported to chexsystems will also be reported to EWS. Those wishing to obtain consumer report information should contact their Consumer Call Center at 800-325-7775. From what I have been told it is much easier to get a copy of your report with EWS than it is with Chexsystems. Apparently they will email you a form that you can mail or fax back to them. From what I have been able to tell, if you are reported to chexsystems then chances are good that you are reported to EWS. This seems especially true of those that have a Chexsystems report that has fraud indicated on it. __________________

I applied for a checking account thru suntrust and their online chat system. She said I was approved and all I would have to do is go to the branch and show id and make a deposit. I asked her a second time if that is all i had to do and she said yes. Have you found this is true OR is there more and will they do a check thru chexsystems and deny me?

I get so so many mixed stories on Suntrust.... this is the most recent information we have .....
SUNTRUST EMAIL from Suntrust Quote:
Although Suntrust claims that they do not use chexsystems, it has been reported that most branches still do. If you are going to apply: -it must be through the online chat or over the phone -the online applications still use chexsystems If they ask you to go into a branch to finish up the process, tell them NO..that you wish to do everything by mail and fax ONLY. If you go into a branch to finish the process, they will run chex and deny you. -Business accounts work the same way. Normally if you apply through online chat or over the phone, they only run the business through telecheck, not the signers on the account. ** if you go into a branch to finish the process, they will run the signers of the business through chexsystems and deny you. (many people got account and still have them by following the above instructions) __________________

bank deposits
I have had an account with SunTrust Bank for over 20yrs.
They have wonderful customer service. I recommend them they were wonderful going the extra mile to help us since we had a family emergency during the process of getting the loan approved. |

Suntrust Account
I just opened a suntrust account online, Went to branch today to fund account, Logged online my intial deposit is sowing.....I have horrible checking account history! i mean next to the worst I am so affraid they are going to come in and close it..........So affraid I have learned my lesson in banking I have lost thousands of dollars.......I had gotten in trouble for putting in an empty envolope to get the 100 dollars avail balance....I was addicted to drugs im now 2 years clean....still suffering from the mistakes I had made to get my fix in the past I hope and prey that they keep this account open I wonder if they are going to come in and screw me because I have had my account closed at bofa, wachovia and pnc....for charge offs and the one fruadulent act to get money...I have truly changed I hope they dont go in and close my account.......I just wish I didnt have to worry about it because I feel its wrong to approve some one then to turn around and close the account, I just hope and prey this is not the case.

SUNTRUST FRAUD
I closed a account in March of 2008 and received a letter of 239.30 that i owed and i disputed that amount because i know that i closed it in good standings. Then i received another letter stating that i owed 379.28. Then a collection agent mailed me a letter stating that i owed 269.30. I pulled my chex system and it stated that i owed 479.90 to suntrust. I called Suntrust and she stated that i owed 519.00. What can i do about them doing this to me.
