I just called a friend that has an account with them.Â* He says he has had no problems banking with them.Â* He also says that when you go into the bank they have signs everywhere letting you know that they will open an account if your name appears on chexsystems.
Â* I hope that helps. Â* |

If you are reported to chexsystems.. this is probably one of the best second chance checking accounts that you can find. They are very friendly to those reported to chexsystems. If you are local to them.. definitely a GOOD ONE

I have been to a couple of places saying they would not accept checks from that bank. Why would someone say that? I have not seen very many, but just a few places.

That is what I thought. I have only seen the sign in maybe 2 places, but it says do not accept checks written off of Woodforest. One day, maybe I will ask. Doubt that they will really tell me, but I may ask anyway.

I've never seen any of those signs so far but I use my debit card more than I do any checks. I have had an account with Woodforest for almost a month now and I have to say I love them. I've not had a bit of problems.
Maybe one reason that some companies don't take checks from woodforest though is because one of the representatives said that the branch can hold a check for a bit if they need to. She explained to me that if I didn't have funds and made arrangements to make a deposit the day that they received the check, they would hold the check until I made a deposit, and then cash the check. I don't know how true it is, but that's what I was told. I was actually in the branch signing up for an account when a lady called and set up an arrangement to make a deposit before her check came out. And they told her to be there by the end of the day and she would be fine. |
