Today at 3 oclock so little less than 2 hours. Doing a Bankruptcy with a paralegal is a lot cheaper but I dont know if it is the right way. What if the creditors come back to me like I saw in one post she said that they called her and she called her attorney. Well I wont have that. Do you think it is smart of me to do it with a paralegal. I do not have the money to pay an attorney. with her it will be 500 and that includes the filing fee.
I have gone onto credit restoration and found great ideas. But they are not fast enough lol. I am getting married April 26th and my debts will be his debts and he already filed for bankruptcy. I feel this is my only way. Any advice.

I am not logged in but she has been doing this for 29 years. She says that there is no reason why I should have to pay an attorney... Well it went fine. I think I am just gonna file for bankruptcy and go from there. That is what Jared also would like as well just to start fresh and clean kinda

A paralegal is not a lawyer in law school. Being a paralegal is a profession all by itself. Attorneys employee paralegals to do most of their grunt work, so more often as not it is the para doing the paperwork on behalf of the attorney. They often are more familiar with the actual cases than the attornies themselves!

As long as you keep you copy of the BK everything will be ok. Even if someone does call you can let them know that the debt was declared in your BK and you no longer owe the debt and they cannot legaly collect on it either. If it keeps you then send them a copy of the BK papers. That is all the lawyer will do if they contact you. But it usually sounds better coming from a lawyer. Sometimes you can have a lawyer (well someone in their office) type up a letter for you and it can cost you something like $20 and it will look and sound official. So if it happen and they call you now you have a couple different options you can use. Good luck and congrats. on the upcomming wedding!!

She told me the exact same thing. That if they call tell them that the debt was included in my BK. I figure that she would know what was going since she has done this for so long. Thank ya'll on the advice.
