|
|
I'm going to be filling soon for chapter 7, and thankfully, I am eligible for legal aid, but I am worried that I wont be eligible for chapter 7 and hopefully someone here can help.
I live in a house with someone else, I make my own money, but not much which is how I qualified for legal aid, this person pays the rent, utilities etc, makes more money than me. Will their income or house expenses have any effect on me getting my debts discharged in chapter 7? Do they need to know how much they make?
Thanks

Go here and enter your zip code:
legalconsumer.com
Then click on "means test calculator" and then over at the right side, click on "Roommates & domestic partners? contributions to household income." It will bring up a box that I think answers your question. Basically it says that you will need to include the amount that the other person pays in the total household income amount.

Thanks, I went to that website but I'm still confused, if I list them under total household income, then do I list total number of people in household as 2? And would I have to tell them their wage information?

You'll get more replies that way. I wish I could help, but don't know. Start this in a new topic and some one will be able to help. Sorry to hear of your situation.
