All of my debts are credit/store cards, they are old and in collections, are you able to discharge them or do they have to be recent?
I have been paying 4 of them off, 2 thru credit counseling, 2 myself, I read you cannot file if you have made a payment 90 days before, is that true?

I forgot to ask also,
I use no credit cards at the moment, the only card I use for any purchases is my debit cardissued to me from my bank, will they allow me to still keep my card and checking account when I file?

Yes, you can discharge old debt. In fact, you cannot discharge any new debt incurred within 90 days before you filed.
Yes, as long as you do not have a loan or credit card with the bank you bank with, your debit card and checking account will survive the bk just fine.
