Yuck! I have my court date this Thursday for my chap 13. I really hate having to show my face there. I seriously doubt I will see anyone I know or will ever see again BUT I am feeling ashamed. Everyone at work knows that I filed and I hate that too. I should have kept it to myself. Anyway, I could really use some words of encouragement. I know this is the best thing for me and my young son...I just feel like a failure.

Donkt you dare feel ashamed. There is more people than ever asking for help today.....millions of them. You keep that head held high and be proud of yourself for being so brave to get your life on track again

My husband and I recently filed Chapter 7. It wasn't something that we wanted to do, and we explored all of the other options. Like you, in the end, we decided that it was the best thing to do for our family.

It's a difficult thing to do, but as long as you know that it's the best decision for you, that's the only important thing. As everyone tells me, things will get better!

Thank you so much Lukeskywalker, ladybug and alias. Sometimes it's nice to hear you not alone. Alias, I already can feel my finances being better. I payout about 561 less per month now and wow is that a lot of money to us. Ok, holding my head up and moving forward.

I went chapter 7 in January of 2000 and before that first tried chapter 13 but it didn't work. The courts aren't that bad to go to and alot of people you never think would be there are there also facing the same situation as you are. I have been able to obtain car loans (with high interest) and now even though the economy is suffering I have begun to turn my life around. I need permanent employment as I a temp right now and have been for over a year but at least I am working. Right now staying focused on keeping my bills current and also finding permanent employment is my main focus.

It all started with my Chapter 7 so you do end up getting it together afterwards. Wish I could say the same for the rest of my life.

I had my court date today. I wasn't bad at all. It was harder finding a parking space than meeting with the trustee. Thanks yall for all the support through this time. I will keep yall posted.

Thanks, straycat! I hope mine is that easy also. I have visions of a roomful of creditors all pointing their fingers at me! I'm sure it won't really be that bad though!
