I have just begun to receive calls from one CC that is only about 10 days late. Have turned off all the ringers on my phones and am dreading having to talk to them. Has anyone just given up and filed BK just to get peace?

yes, but it isn't as easy as it used to be. There are alot more steps that you need to do in order to get to bk. Have you tried other things such as dmp or debt consolidation? Bankruptcy is just a nasty thing to go through and shouldn't be taken too lightly.

I'm leaning toward settlement actually. I'm in Georgia and I will have to go through a lawyer to do it, as I understand, and I'm hoping they won't try to put me in something I don't need. DMP won't help me at all though. Payments go up actually.
