Allied Interstate has been calling saying they are helping to collect for GE Money. They also called saying they are in house collectors for Capital One. Can they be house collectors for both? Do they have to follow the Fair Debt act? Don't they have to send me a letter 5 days after phone contact? When I asked about this letter, they didn't know what I was talking about.

Sure they can collect for both,
Allied sends the first contact letter as soon as the account is placed. They are not required to resend it after the first communication.

Sorry to put this in the wrong forum. They called me yesterday regarding Capital One. I have not received a letter regarding Capital One. I did receive one from GE about 2 weeks after the first phone call. The lady yesterday acted like she didn't know what I was talking about and said to look at my statements. If she says they are in house collectors does that get them off the hook from following the FDCPA? I thought Allied was a CA. They say they are helping to collect. :confused:
