Will filing affect self employment or a spouses credit.

The amount of my debt isn't much compared to some of my friends, but the number of debtors are overwhelming. I have been thinking about filing for about two years now but I don't know how this will affect the following:

-I'm ready to start a very small at home business, but I'm not sure if I should file first or purchase my business license first. My aunt said that if I file and then get my license, it wouldn't look right to the courts.
-Lastly, if someone gets married, wouldn't their credit automatically affect the spouse's credit?

Please advise

Welcome to the site, you may even be able to claim BK, it's not as easy as it was. Have you signed up for the free consultation (on the right)?

No offense but do not rely on Aunts, brothers ETC when dealing with BK questions, rely on your BK attorney. I think you'd have more problems opening a business before a BK than after.

Getting married should not affect the other persons credit in anyway.
