Will a piece of property my husband and I own free and clear but is vacant prevent me from being able to declare bankruptcy? We have tried to get a loan against it to pay off my debt but no one will loan money on vacant land in Fla.

You are allowed so much in exemptions in assets when you file bankruptcy. You can file if you wish. What State are you in?
