Bass and Associates is a crap CA. People have so many complaints against this CA. All their business activities are illegal. Read Cajun's thread and file your complaints with the state AG and the FTC and all other law enforcement agencies you can think of.

Make sure that you ask them to validate the account for which they are doing the collections. Don't be worried of their threats. They are all illegal. Check your state laws and start recording the phone calls. Keep a note of all the calls with date and time and the person you spoke with. This will help in your filing a legal case against them. Consult an attorney if they continue to violate the FDCPA.

Be sure to file a complaint with the Florida Attorney General, who is currently investigating this company.

Next time they call you up tell them that they are violating the FDCPA. A debt collector is prohibited from harassing or abusing any person in connection with the collection of a debt. Do not panic it is just a dirty trick, they can’t sue you and not even put you behind the bars. So, cheer up.

Like it has been stated, they cannot have you arrested. Any such threat is a violation of the FDCPA. Also file a complaint with the BBB and FTC, you can do these online. In the meantime, I would suggest sending them a debt validation letter. I seriously doubt they will send you any type of validation but this will cover your butt. You can find a sample letter in the DIY section. Send it CMRRR so you have proof they received it.
