Sorry, I think something is wrong with the link I posted.

Hey, Purgatory, are you a fan of Little Britain? I notice the pic of Andy (from the Lou and Andy sketches).

Sorry, indeed it won't link. But it's a 21 page complaint for those who want to visit the FL AG site and download it.

Yes, I just read it. If the AG wins, and I'm sure he will, Bass is finished along with the Jacksons. Anyone who has been contacted by Bass or Jackson Phillips and has not already done so, file a complaint with the Forida AG. Here's what the Florida AG is requesting of the court in the complaint:

Quote:
WHEREFORE, the Attorney General repectfully requests that the Court enter judgment in its favor for the following relief:

a) Permanently enjoin Defendants BASS, JACKSON PHILLIPS, FRANK JACKSON, and EVELYN JACKSON and its officers, agents, servants, employees, attorneys and those persons in active concert or participation with it who recieve actual notice of the injunction, from engaging in the methods, acts or practices alleged herein that are unconscionable acts or practices or deceptive or unfair acts or practices in violation of Chapter 501, Part II, Fla. Stat., pursuant to Section 501.207(1)(b), Fla. Stat.

b) Permanently enjoin Defendants BASS, JACKSON PHILLIPS, FRANK JACKSON, AND EVELYN JACKSON from engaging in collection activities in the State of Florida pursuant to Sections 559.55 et seq. and 501.207(3), Fla. Stat.;

c) Impose penalties of Ten Thousand Dollars ($10,000) per violation of the Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act pursuant to Section 501.2075, Fla. Stat. and civil penalties in the amount of Fifteen Thousand Dollars ($15,000) per willful violation which victimized, or attempted to victimize a person who is 60 years of age or older, pusuant to Section 501.2077, Fla. Stat.;

d) Award consumer restitution and damages in an amount to equal the amounts each consumer paid in excess of an amount allowed by law;

e) Order the revocation of the Office of Financial Regulation of the Department of Financial Services collections license/registration granted to defendants BASS and JACKSON PHILLIPS pursuant to Section 501.207(3) and 559.730(1) Fla. Stat.;

f) Order dissolution of Defendant BASS corporate existence, pursuant to Section 501.207(3), Fla. Stat.;

g) Enter Judgment declaring Defendants' actions and practices unlawful under Chapter 501, Part II, Fla. Stat., pursuant to Section 501.207(1)(a), Fla. Stat.;

h) Award Plantiff costs and attorneys fees pursuant to Sections 559.77(1) and 501.2105, Fla. Stat.;

i) Award any and all such relief as this Honorable Court deems just, equitable, and proper.

While this is indeed a great day for consumers in Florida, what's to stop these people from just pulling up stakes and moving to a different state? How can we shut them down--not just in Florida but all over?

kscornell,you bring up a very good point.I have been asking members to file with ic3.gov,local fbi office,state bar association,and local police if situation warrants it.Until people start getting jailtime for their actions,it will not sink into their heads.

Absolutely, Cajun. We all need to keep on doing this. Until then, there's nothing to stop them from taking their telephone terrorist act on the road to another state and setting up shop again. They can harass people on the phone just as easily from Delaware as they could from Florida, right? We need to make it so there's nowhere for them to run!

I just ended a phone conversation a little while ago with a friend of mine who works for a government agency in my state. A little bit of interesting news to share here. I've also shared it in the DC forum. It seems that we used to have a poster here awhile ago that worked for Bass. It seems her co-work is possibly on the boards posting as a regular member of the forum. The IP address have been tracked to Florida and they are identical.
