Which state law applies regarding the statute of limitaion on credit card debt: the state I live in (CA-4yrs), the state the credit card company's main office is located (S.D.-6yrs), or the state the collection agencey who bought the past due account from the credit company (CA-4yrs)? Please help!

To put it more accurately, the state where the account was originally opened by you. It does not matter whether the company has their business in your state or in other state. collection agencies have no role in SOL except collecting on the debt but they need to be licensed in your state.
