Heres a site dedicated to helping scam artists find access to your finances.

Might be worth it for someone to accually pay the full membershit fee to see how they do it and get back at them.

just google Promotional posts are not allowed-Mike

... heres just one of the sections dedicated to tricking people into giving them information....

Simple Contact Cards
Contact cards are particularly handy for making contacts with skips. Just mail them to your skip's known address. Give your name and phone number and ask them to get in touch with you ASAP. The idea is to entice the skip to respond, so try to make the card as interesting or mysterious as your imagination will allow. Then use call display to close the trap. When the customer calls, it will show the possible non-published number, new resident number - or even place of employment."

We should have a right not to be watched like this if we dont owe money. Its not fair that this guy can publish a book like this available to the public.
If you look through the site youll see all kinds of methods to getting peoples information. Shouldnt be legal.

Sign up for the trial membership..... tonnes of stuff is there.
The problem is, is that the laws are clearly not being followed and from this site we can see that theyre are in fact harrassing people who do not owe money. Something should be done to prevents this, and our information should be protected. The credit bureaus should have to call if our file is being searched.

Ouch! Yeah, I can see your point Less. Never looked at it that way! Thanks for pointing that out!

I am accually not a debetor but a victim of identity theft and fraud from a collection agency. They completely destroyed a part of my life that I worked extremely hard to get to ( school).
My point is that Ive seen this abuse from collection agencies plastered all over this site, and the ammount of complaints that the FTC and BBB seems to be getting are not helping at all.

I dont think its right that these people can have access to all these sensitive documents.
We should be informed that someone is snooping through our files - point blank, no questions asked.
The bureaus have no right to give out information like that unless were notified, asked permission and that there is proof that the information is needed.

Theres no excuse for "mistakes".
It ruins peoples lives and the creditors are not held acountable.
Its not right, its not fair, and we should be protected from scam artists.
Its the same when people go through garbages to get personal info, only its just handed over to people who call themselves colectors.
Look at the way people are being treated. Being called liars, harrassing, taking money out of accounts wich is theft. Do you really want these people to have free access to your personal lives?

I sure dont and I belive I should have that right - but I dont.

I am in toronto accually.
Whats stopping a collector from copying your info and selling it or using it themselves?

Apparently the debit card and credit card copy scam is usually sent to the opposite country. Canadian cards used in the states and vise versa..

I didnt know about my identity theft untill I applied for my student loans and was turned down. Lost my spot in admissions, and the following year required a bachelors in science to get in.4 more years of school to be even considered. Long story short, they totally screwed me.
They eventually fixed my report after weeks of fighting, long distance phone calls and the loss of 200$ to write the admissions exam, travel and hotel expences to get to the city where the university was. But thats it. No fines, no jail for identity theft or fraud - nothing.

Yup, the agency themselves.
They recieved a bill that didnt have a name attached to it, or had ever been paid and was still running and open from a utility company. The house had been vacant for some time.
The collection agency did a property search, found that I had a phone at that residence YEARS before.
Pulled my credit file ( wich clearly showed that I didnt live at that address so It was obvioulsy not my bill) and destroyed it.

They knew I lived 4 hours away and had been living there for years before the account was even created because it was on the credit report when they searched it. None accually created the account, it was a floater and they decided I should be responsible for it.

It took them 2 days from the time they got the bill to mark up my file. No attempted contact, no letters, nothing and it sat there for 2 more years collecting bogus interest.

They knew I didnt owe money, they knew they attached any name they could fine to score some extra cash and they knew they were preventing me from getting me my school loans. They didnt care, theyre criminals with a master key.
