I went to my mothers house this last week and my sister had told me of tons of phone calls they had been getting from this company (named above). She told me that when she had answered the phone the guy saked for me and she told them I didn;t live there, which I don't, and he said "Oh so youre a lying ass too?" SHe said What? and he proceeded to go off on her. Then they called back a few more times. So when I found this out I asked her for the number and I called them. The man knew right away who I was just by saying my first name, unreal, then he started telling me that I needed to pay these debts, I said I'm sorry you need to contact me by Mail, he then assumed that i din't want to pay, when I had said no thats not it, You need to mail me something He said no, and then when he asked where I worked and I responded that I am currently not employed, he started making comments about how I am proud to not pay my way, or something to that effect. What a jerk he was so I hung up on him and he immediately called back. I asked for his superviser, he he started talkin more smack! unbelievable this guy was. I hung up again, he called back and my sister answered, he started arguing with her, and said that he wanted me to make a statement, she said only if you stop calling here, she handed me the phone and he said so then youre saying that you will not pay us? is that right? I said no, he butts in Oh so how will you be paying us then? i said u contact me by mail...
Anyhow the point is he never once told me what the debt was for other then some payday loans, when he was assuming that I am lazy and dont want to work, I just had a baby, c'mon now. I have done some searching through thier website and only thing I have found is 2 email addresses and a phone number, upon doing some other research of the website I also noticed that "The loans area"... "DOES NOT have a Secure login!" and they are asking people for acct numbers n such. WOW
Im a customer service rep and You dont get people to give you money by being jerks!!!

Do not pay them anything. Send them a debt validation letter certified mail with return receipt. 1st Credit of America is one of the rudiest and most crooked cllection agency around. They have previously been shut down under the name Avylon Technologies. You need to file a complaint against them with the Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madagan. This company needs to be heavily fined or shut down again.

I am dealing with them, sent validation letter about a month ago no response - they are now calling me at least 4 times a day. Have blocked their number at ths point. Getting ready to file complaint with AG office. The phone calls start about 8am and go until evening. Time wise they are in another zone - one hour behind east coast.

These jokers are contacting me almost daily via e-mail to collect on a payday loan that I already paid over a year ago to Ellis Crosby...they soaked me, and I am sure not going to pay again. I have told 1st Credit repeatedly via e-mail to contact BMG Group (the original creditor) and speak with Lindsay to clear this up. Instead, their e-mail barrage intensified. I have responded to every e-mail with the same information. I am glad I am not receiving phone calls (we have privacy ID on our phone)....I have reported them to the BBB and anxiously (yeah, right!) await their response. If they continue, I am going to forward them to my attorney for further action. The only way they have contacted me is via e-mail, nothing via snail mail. Is this a legit way to attempt to collect a debt?

From what I understand they can't attempt to collect a debt through email. It has to come through USPS. 1st Credit of America in my opinion is one of the top 10 worst collection agencies out there. They violate several laws. I have dealt with these jokers and they actually threatened to have my kids taken away, told me that I was going to be arrested. I filed a complaint against htem with the Illinois Attorney General and included a copy of the police report filed.

How do you block them from calling you? I got very annoyed by their calls. What legal action can I take? The worst thing is that they tried to reach someone, and I told them several times that the number they called is belonged to me. I don't even know the name they mentioned. I told them to stop calling me. Any advice will be appreciated.

Send them a cease and desist letter, certified mail with return receipt. In the letter, state that the person they are trying to call doesn't live there and to CEASE COMMUNICATIONS IMMEDIATELY! Also file a complaint against them with the Illinois Attorney General.

how long does it take the illnois attorney general to do something happen to 1st credit of america? these people are annoying, and very rude. i cant take it anymore. thanks for your help.

Patience is all that matters!! More importantly, the actions will be faster after the legal aids will receive complaints in bulks against a specific company. They hardly take actions for people with individual concerns. The more people file complaints against one company, they get aware about it.
