I read about Bud Hibbs webpage somewhere on this forum a while ago. I have a lawsuit pending and have been looking at his website. What does anyone know about him? Would you consider his advice reliable?

Anytime I have emailed him with questions, he has responded very quickly and gave details on the agency I was inquiring about. I have found his information reliable and mostly accurate.

The few times I emailed him, he responded very quickly , and even gave me his direct phone number and asked me to call him if I had any problems.

It is actually because of him, that I have decided I would like to be active as a consumer advocate in helping people dealing with debt and collections. Just not sure how to get to the next level from here.

Thanks - I will proceed with what he advised!
He responded to me personally and quickly...I am just a bit skeptical due to my recent experiences with CAs.

I don't think so, he is a big consumer advocate when it comes to illegal tactics used by collectors. You should go to his site. Has alot of info. on the collectors discussed on this site. He does alot of talk radio.

They have Bud Hibs link on that, they use his worst collection agencies list. That site was pretty informative and some of the tactics collectors used, real scary. It's hard to imagine there's a collection agency out there giving debtors help, you can even request his help in dealing with some of the illegal tactics.

WOW, I cant beleive what I'm reading. So I go to the collections industry . com website, I register ( made up a agency name and gave them a bunch of false info).. once I I can see debt portfolios for sale, many CLEARLY STATING 50-98% of accounts in the portfolio are out of SOL, what even MORE staggering is there is at least one portfolio listed WHICH IS ACCOUNTS THAT WERE IN CHAPTER 13 BANKRUPTCY, um, excuse me, maybe I'm mistaken ,but once you file for BK, aren't they supposed to stop collections?

Any who I signed up to receive some of their newsletters. It'll be interesting to see what they send out, and maybe get a view from the inside.

I have bookmarked the Bud Hibbs site because I feel that anyone that the Collection industry hates that much is worth finding out more about lol. In looking at his Top Ten list of America's worst Collection Agencies, I did run into some familiar names. Thanks for the info on this site!

If you ran into familar names, that might be because you a debtor, us you energy to pay your bills, don't waste you time with Bud Hibb's OUTDATED website. All his info. is provided by disgruntled ex-employees form agencies. Therefore, your not getting info. from a reliable, impartial source.

This is how BOB smith gets harrassed for BILL smiths debt.
