I need help.......I have gotten way in over my head with pdl's!!!! I don't understand why everyone just keeps giving me these things. I have over 7 internet loans & 6 store loans. I am in debt to them for a total of $6,500. I don't even know where to start. I tried talking to an financial counselor through and Employee Assistance Program and he was lost for words. All I was trying to do is pay my bills on time. Why do I feel like the biggest loser because of all of this?? I make really good money but just seem to fall into these PDL's. Some are threatening collections because I finally broke and didn't have enough money to cover them all anymore. HELP!!!!

First off, welcome! You are in the right place and no, you are NOT a loser!!
Second, are your PDL's storefront or internet? That is the first step to get out of the cycle. What you will also probably have to do is close your bank account and get a new one, so they can't debit it.

Thanks kscornell. Just to answer your question I have 7 internet loans and 6 store front loans. I am totally afraid to close my checking acct. for the mere fact of it looking like fraud. These places have me scared.

Welcome Tiana-you aren't a looser,just made some bad choices. But there is always a solution. Since you are registered here,someone will contact you about your options,such as consolidation. Alot of internet pdls are operating illegally and all try scare tactics.Store front lenders can and often do take action. But,talking to them,explaining the situation,and telling them you want to get this taken care of,sometimes helps.Consolidating all of these would mean one payment a month and alot lower interest fees,so this may be your answer. Browse through some of the other threads on pdls and see what others are doing or have done. Good Luck...Karen

What internet ones do you have? Chances are there are threads here for each one. And second, you need to educate yourself about the scare tactics these places are going to use--but it will be better.

Cashtransfer Centers and Northway Debit are just another name for Sonic Payday for which there is scads of information to be found here. If they made you sign a voluntary wage garnishment, my best advice to you is to revoke it immediately. Geneva-Roth Ventures is also well known on this site.
Advance America is a storefront which I have personally paid off and I can tell you they will try and be ugly, but once you get a payment plan going, they should cooperate. They did with me.
Sonic is based out of Canada and is not licensed in many states, including California. Things will get bumpy, but don't any of their **ap and remember that you do have rights, OK? And post often and let us know!

So instead of closing my checking account like kscornell suggested, I stoppen my direct deposit. I was looking into opening another bank account elsewhere and kept getting declined. At least this way I can keep them from taking my whole paycheck like they did last Friday. I have a car payment due today and have no means of payment. I am so stressed. Anyways, just had to vent.

Tinkers, you should also talk to your bank about stoppign any debits to the account so that you don't have to worry about your bank becoming overdrawn.

How much have you paid to the internet PDLs? What were your original balances. You may have overpaid some of them, and can possibly get the balances marked paid in full...
