Not exactly debt related, but I kind of though others would like to know the outrageous fees charged by WM on a Visa CC. Please remove if necessary!

Just curious, if anyone has recieved a credit card offer from Washington Mutual??

I actually recieved two, one at home, and one at the P/O recently. Reading their "terms", I started laughing, as the apr's they list are everything from insane to obscene!

Intro APR: 0%

Standard APR: May vary, depending on Prime Rate changes.

APR for Purchases: 6.74% PLUS Prime. But, NO LESS than 14.99%

APR for Balance transferes: Within 90 days - 6.74% PLUS Prime, no less than 14.99%

APR for Cash Advance: 15.74% PLUS Prime. NO LESS than 23.99%

Default APR: Each default(no minimum pyt by due date, exceed credit, pyt NOT honored by Bank) We MAY increase the APR's up to the maximum of Prime PLUS 23.74% In short, NO LESS than 31.99%

Balance transfere fees: Free first 90 days.
Future offers - Transfere balance fee of 3% of the amountof each balance transfere. ($5 minimum/$75 max per transfere.) which is a one-time FINANCE CHARGE.

And since they included a postage paid return envelope, I'm gonna send back their pre approved application, along with some other junk mail I have laying around! Gonna let them deal with it! Send me sh*t, I'm gonna send some back! Also letting them know that their terms/fees range from insane to obscene!!

And that I have absolutely NO interest in anything more from them. And to never send me any more of their garbage unless I specifically request it!
Needed that!
Thanks,

Keith you're a riot!
I get those all the time. One says they'll give me $300 credit, but the first bill will reflect $65 processing fee, and $159 Annual Fee, and this fee and that fee so I'll actually start with $79 in credit on the card!
What a bunch of hooey!

lol at Keith-gosh,what a joke. And the bad thing is, people will take their terms. I have a stupid son(youngest) who has taken offers like that several times and is way in the hole now. I do the same thing,I send their offer back to them in their envelope, with a big old note on the offer saying,no thanks, you keep it. Funny thing is,they usuall don't send any more. Plus I called that number to get our names off all pre-approved crap...KAren

Keith, why don't you opt out Washington Mutual from your pre-approved credit offers for ever? You will never hear from them after the opt out feature is enabled.
