Hi Pearl, I am sure you don't want any collection agency to do something legal on you. If any collector decides legal actions, they must have a legitimate purpose and enough proof that you have serious defaulted on your debt accounts. Did you get anything in your mail from the collector? You must have all specifics about the debt and that the collector is authorized for this purpose by your creditors. If you haven’t received anything yet, send debt validation letter to their mailing address. This will prove that you are aware about your responsibilities and want to have complete info before making a payment.
