A couple years ago I had a debt turned over to allied interstate. I eventually paid that off but they have never reported to the original creditor that the debt was satisfied. I can no longer order from this vendor even though the debt has been paid. I have no idea where the records are to prove to this vendor that it has been paid. What are my options at this point? This vendor is the only one that sells the product that I use.

Aaahh..It's a mistake that you didn't take the receipt after paying off the account to the collection agency. Now, you have to call them and request to check their file so that they can provide you the receipt. In case, they deny, you will need your bank statements to prove that the payments was done by you, it will be good to have the records in hand.

Do you have the past credit reports to compare? You say the collection agency never reported to the original creditor? When you realized this, didn't you take any actions?
