I have been trying to take care of this debt with midland but the representative hung up on me told me that he has other calls. I asked him if I could speak to a manager he said there isn't one what else can I do.

midland credit management is supposed to send you the debt info in writing. Federal laws mention that you should get it within five business days after they do the first phone call to you.

Check your mail if you have received anything from them. You need to draft a debt validation letter to their mailing address requesting for the name of the creditor, breakdown of the total amount and other important info that authorized their collection. Read more in the FDCPA laws.

Check your latest credit copy if they have reported anything negative. Their should be a legitimate purpose before hitting your credit report and the details must be given to you.

I find it suprising that they hung up on you when you were trying to pay off a debt. I suggest that you keep calling back until you get someone else.
