Can collection agencies call people from my past?

Hello........I have some debts that I do need to pay but my question is this?
How would a collection agency get a phone number of someone I have no contact with and call thier home looking for me? Also, is Midland Credit Management also known as MCM and are they affiliated with Allen Daniels assocoiates in Massachusetts? Thank yo

Yes, a collection agency can locate people searching for you because those names were used as a reference. If MCM has your debt and you keep yourself available, there should be no reasons for calling other people. They may also send a cease and desist letter to the CA prohibiting further contacts legally.

MCM should give you the specifics before you send them money. You need to confirm if they are authorized for this collection and whether they will be posting your payments to your accounts. Federal laws guide how to deal with the collection agencies when they contact you.
