Accounts Receivable Management - ARM anyone deal with?

Has anyone dealt with this collection company. Can you tell me who regulates collections companies and who I can file a complaint with? On two different occasions they did not honor the payment arrangements I made with them. One time I changed the date and they still took out the payment. Just last week I had changed the payment amount with a rep over the phone and the company has not only taken out the original payment that was scheduled but also the changed payment. They double dipped me and now are telling me they can't credit me back for 30 days. Any suggestions? If I had the money in the first place I would have never changed the original payment amount, now I am out double.

I need to file a complaint asap with the authorities. Who do I do that with? They are located in New Jersey.

File the complaint with the New Jersey Attorney General. Explain clearly what has happened. Is this collection agency licensed in your state? You need to also file a dispute with the bank.

Do I file with the Attorney General where I live or where the collection company is located?

I would file with both. I have found that the AG has alot of power when it comes to companies that try to scam the residence of their state.

Always make sure to have any kinds of arrangements in paper. Without proof, you stand nowhere. The company can easily make a strong point by showing the papers where the previous arrangement was done regarding the specified dates.

I will insist to keep filing complaints at all legal places you can think about. Make sure that you have enough proof in case the legal reps. cross-question you when actions are to be taken on your complaints.

Check with the Attorney General and the Division of Banking if ARM is licensed in your state. If they are not following the laws in your state, your case gets stronger.

I have a account with them for First Premier Bankcard. I set up arrangements with them over the phone and I also received a reminder letter with them stating when and how much the payment was for. I haven't had any problems with them so far, but I still have 2 pmts to go. The lady that I spoke with was very nice and she told me that after my 1st payment that I could call in and change the date for the remaining 2. I am not sure what is going on with your account, but the ones that I spoke with were very nice and very well respectful.

i actually used to work for accounts receivable management many years ago. I lasted less then a month. I have accounts in collections with them now, for me they are hard to deal with when it comes to making arrangements and how much i can pay.

The payment I just made was lower than the final payment. The actual rep I spoke with told me if would be no problem to pay less for the month, then next month the remaining payment for balance in full. I have been paying as scheduled with them and needed to reduce this one payment since I was laid off work. They took out the lower payment and the originally scheduled payment. Do I file complaint with the state where the collection agency is located or where I am located? The collection company is still stating it will take 30 days to credit me back the money. This does not seem fair... if I had the money in the first place I would have paid the balance off.

Maybe try contacting your bank and dispute the one charge you did not want them to take out. I would try filing or at least call Consumer Protection at the attorney generals office in NJ maybe they can give you some more info or what to do or at least who to go to. You can find their info on the website for the state of nj.
