Harrassing phone calls at work.

I just got a call from Ted Smith from Payment Services for Cash Transfer Centers stating that he is going to contact my HR dept where I work. I am a federal employee in Washington State. Is there anyone out there who can offer me any advice? Also, I have sent my HR dept a letter for revocation of my Voluntary Wage Assignment. Also, he tried forcing me to admit that I was unwilling to pay the loan while he was recording our call.

Well, for starters, in regard to the phone recording, he must tell you he is recording the conversation. You, in return, have the right to refuse.

Contacting your HR is illegal. Per the fdcpa, they are not allowed to contact other people about your debt.

In reference to the revocation, I'll let someone else answer that. I'd hate to give you incorrect advice.

I was just floating around Cash Transfer Centers website. I can't find any reference to states they are not allowed to loan (as PDLs are illegal in some states). Also, can I say it has the WORST link ever in that "panic button". How stupid.

Have you sent the revocation letter to CTC also? You must ensure that they have received your revocation letter before trying to garnish your wages. CTC is doing many illegal activities all over the states. You will find many topics about this company in this forum. Take a print out and show your HR how others have taken control.

CTC does wage assignment. They start with their famous threats if they don't manage to deduct money from your payroll. Since you have revoked their wage assignment, it is not legally possible for them to withdraw money from your account. If they manage to do, report your state attorney general and send a copy to the FTC. Keep in touch with your payroll also.

Go to this link for more information about this company. You will know what you are doing is right.

They are looking to deduct money before my money is even direct deposited into my account.

Don't let CTC debit money from your account. Inform your payroll about this company and show them a print out. Legally speaking, CTC loses all rights to debit from your account after receiving the revocation letter. Send it immediately through certified mail and return receipt requested. You will be covered legally
