I owe the plumber like 600.oo awnd I have been making payments. He says if I don't pay more will put a lein on my house, what can I do.

It is an awful lot of paperwork to go through, to put a lien on your house, especially over a $600 balance. He is most likely saying that to get you to pay him in full.
You need to keep in mind, a plumber is under no obligation to provide his services in exchange for installment payments. When he gives you a bill, it is usually due in full within X number of days.
If he wanted to, he could go to court and get a judgment, and then go through the process of attaching his claim to your property.

You could try offering him a little bigger payment and see if he would accept it.
