I was wondering if someone can help me with what to do. Recently, someone - I don't know who - started calling my sister, who lives in a different state, about money they claim I owe. The number they told her to give me was 1-800-235-4153 extension 1277. Last night, my sister left a rather hysterical message on my answering machine demanding to know what is going on. They are telling her that it's about a lawsuit. To my knowledge, I'm not involved in a lawsuit. I told her to tell them to stop calling her, but she's really upset about it and apparently the calls just keep coming to her home. What should I do?

Someone posted this in the whocalled.us website. They use two numbers 1-800-235-4153 and 1-800-236-7478

Quote:
800-236-7478 with a message from Pat Martin is a collection agency - National Enterprise Systems. nes1.com/index.asp

You may either contact your state attorney general about harassing phone calls or contact NES at the number provided and tell them you want to resolve this prior to contacting the attorney general.

I have also been harrassed by this company. I did some research today and have come upon the Fair debt collectors Practices Act. They have vilated this by their contact with your sister. Read through it and it is very interesting. I'm sure they will have more violations

That is 3rd party information. Unless it is the actual party that is filing the lawsuit, they can not do that. It is a tactic on urgency to get you to call back. They probably have a number to reach you but there is a program that they use to find your friends and family also neighbors. They will call them to get your attention. They know that it will do one of two things. Either call back afraid or call in pissed. So just do not worry about it.
