|
|
On December 8th 2005 I went to the hospital in an ambulance. The hospital, doctors, and radiology all got paid by my insurance.
The ambulance service claims they did not for whatever reason receive my insurance information. I never heard from them requesting the information via letter or phone.
I now owe 601.00 to BAY AREA CREDIT SERVIC for the ambulance ride. I called the ambulance provider and they said they would bill my insurance and report that the account was closed.
How do I get the collection agency to report the account is Paid in Full and if possible to get this removed completely from my record?

Your credit report should provide accurate information about your credit. You said everything was paid in the year 2005 by your insurance. How is this debt presently showing unpaid? What does your insurance company say?
Collection agency has to show the debt as paid in full if you have done it. However, negatives once reported in the credit cannot be taken off before the seven years period until the company provides info to the credit bureau.

I said.. the hospital, the doctor, and radiology got paid by the insurance. The ambulance DID NOT get paid, they DID NOT contact me in anyway shape or form but instead sent me to collections for 601.00. Now that I see this debt on my credit report and I called the ambulance company they said they would bill the insurance
How to I get the collection agency off my record since the original creditor is going to take care of the billing mistake? They said they would not do anything in regards to my credit report but only mark in their files that the account was closed.

See if you can directly pay the ambulance company. They will be updating your file with the bureaus after receiving your payment. You have the option to pay the CA also, but paying the ambulance company directly will be better in my view. Since the account was sent to collection, they get the chance to report in your credit legally, but you can insist them not to, since the payment will be done to the ambulance company.

I called American Medical reponse who said they would accept the payment
I guess what I don't understand is how it will be deleted or at least marked as paid on my credit report. If AMR takes the payment but yet they have already sold the debt to bay area credit service how do I get them to mark the account as paid.
