I really don't get it..Why do people even waste their time coming here and posting if they don't intend to give or ask for help?

Lame post Edith. Yes we're all jobless. Every last one of us. We dont work so bill collectors have something to do with their time.
I dont understand why someone would come here and say mean things to people, especially weak comments that are not even funny.

Doug,
We just want to feed our children, along with all of those consumers you call everyday threatening them with false claims of arrest in order to extort money from them and take the food from their children's mouths. And by the way, you should really watch that false threat you throw out to those people, you could be charged with extortion, so hopefully one of your victims is reading this and will contact their prosecutor's office because all it take is one phone call to them to get the wheels of justice in motion. And if you don't think a collector has been sent to prison for extortion for that exact same threat, you should really think again.

Edith, I really hope that one day the tables are turned. Then you will see first hand what it's like to have to deal with airheads like yourself.

I'm not worried about going to jail for extortion. If I did something like beat up a debtor maybe that will lead me to prison. But I haven't snapped just yet.

All you need to do is threaten a person with a false claim in order to collect a debt, and YES you can be charged with extortion for that. And a few collectors have gone to prison by simply calling somebody and saying they would be arrested if they didn't pay their debt. By law when you make such false threats knowing that you can not follow through on them in order to collect cash from a person whether it be for a debt or otherwise, it is extortion.

I'm going to go a lot further than threats if this one debtor Maria Carmen DelLopez doesn't pay up soon. She lives right down the street from me in Schaumburg. She will pay.

Keep posting those public threats Doug. It proves one of two things, you are an idiot posting lies, or you are about to become the star on the next episode of America's Stupidest Criminals. And if you are lying, I hope there really isn't a person out there with that name, you just threatened them. Hope they don't live in my state, because here that is considered a cyber crime and you would go to prison for quite sometime.

Someone needs to do a WhitePages search for Maria and let her in on what Doug is trying to do to her. That would be a humane act of kindness to this poor lady. By the way Doug, thanks for letting us know where you live. If this lady can be located and you are only just down the street ... hmmmm think that's enough for the Feds?

Oh by the way extortion has a very broad interpretation. I know of an attorney who was going after someone who embezzled money from his client. He approached opposing counsel and told them that all his client wanted was their money back and if they would pay the money, he would make all the charges go away. The attorney is now serving time in prison for extortion. Extortion is coercion in any form.
