|
|
Three months after thinking I was finally done with all the chaos of connecting with Plaza Processing at which time they said they discharged my loan, I am now being threatened by Bassett & Associates for missapppropriation of federal funds and grand larceny (my loan was for 200.00). Is Bassett & Associates a valid legal firm? They won't tell what state they are practicing out of. Any Advice?

They are liars. They are a collection agency located in Jacksonville Florida. You need to file a complaint with Florida's Attorney General and you own state's Attorney General regarding their false threats. Although that is a pretty good new threat, "Misappropriation of federal funds?" LMAO! Some collector working over there must have heard that one on a rerun of Law and Order. Don't send these people one dime, and don't buy into their false threats of charges of fraud and arrest. Get your complaints in.

Thank you to Steelers1 for your feedback. It was a pretty unsettling conversation and they are very intimidating. I will contact both state attorney generals. Thanks again.

I have had a call from Bass & Assc as well. From what I have found on here and online doing my own research is that they are false. They threatened me too. Stating that I did illegal acts and that I tried to fraud a National Bank and that it was a felony charge but she put me on hold and came back stating that if I paid $500 something that all charges would be dropped. It's a bunch of crap. Do not pay them. It seems that they are taking as much money from people as they can and they want it all wired to them and if you do that you really don't have any trace that you paid them. If you ask for their address, they won't give it to you and by law they have to. Stand your ground. You will find that you are totally not alone with them.

Does anyone have an address for these people. They have threatened me multiple times and I keep telling them to mail me a statement of what is owed and they wont. They kep telling me I am going to be arressted if I dont pay them and that I broke a federal law by not paying them. I have had it with this company. I took out a pdl with a company and have paid them the amount and then some but this Bass and Associates are claining it is from the same company. I want to send them a certified letter saking for a written statement but I dont have an address all I have is their moneygram info.

The address I have for Bass & Associates is:
Bass & Associates
9378 Arlington Expressway, Ste. 323
Jacksonville, FL 32225
This is the address that Bass sent back to the BBB with their response when I filed a complaint against them. I don't know if it is actually correct b/c the BBB website says that this address belongs to a UPS store.
