I recieved a cll from them around christmas at my job a major insurance company..right away I knew they we full of games because of my criminal justice back ground..but I played along faxed them a copy of my bank statement from 3 years ago showing where the pay day loan company drafted the amount owed to them all at one time..I did not set it up for every week. then I told them, faxed and mailed a letter requesting they send me what the had to support I owed more money..then william stated I was going to jail..I told him see ya there. This morning another idot called with the same story and after he finished I told him ..which is true all calls to my place of business are being recorded and I hope my legal department was listening in to send his ..you know what to jail then he hug up. so please don't let these people ruin not one more day of your life.

thank you so much for sharing your experience with this company. I'm sure all of us would have loved to have been a fly on the wall to see the look on that guy's face when you gave him what for!

Good for you! I wonder how frustrated they are, realizing that more and more people are beginning to know their rights. Maybe after this incident, they'll be more cautious about calling people at work!

I think it has to be in their training material, on page 32. "Scare tactic number 101: tell the debtor they're going to jail!!"

I used to work in a call center where we were told to memorize pat responses for different situations, and the funniest thing about Bass is that noone ever gave these clowns a pat response for what to do when someone sees through their garbage and gives it back to them!

exactly right, kscornell - that's why they start to spit and sputter when someone throws it right back at them, and puts a little pepper on it!

When this William guy had called me threatening with all of their scare tactics, I had told him that he is violating the fdcpa, he really couldn't say anything else, but "hold on, let me get my supervisor on the phone." BTW, this William sounded very illiterate and had bad grammar, like maybe he didn't finish high school or something.
