The VA legislature is considering banning payday loans in this state. Needless, to say the paydays loan people are putting up a fight. There is a website called mymoneymydecision.com , if you live in this state please log on and voice your concern to your elected officials. I'd love to see them shut these guys down.

joy - wow, I used to live in VA - for 18 years. I never had any PDL's there, but this sure makes me wish I was still a resident, if only for the sake of bieng able to sign that petition! Very Happy

The site he listed is to SUPPORT payday loans in the state of VA, someone please bleep the link

and was authorized by the Community Financial Services Association of America which suppports the payday loan industry under the false pretenses that it is helping the consumer

hometwoemail - you are exactly right. I amend my opinion above - I DON'T want to sign that. I wouldn't advise anyone else to either.

Actually, the website says to kick the govt and take a pdl for emergencies. It's just a conflicting issue of what we speak here. And they are asking you to mail the govt for keep themselves away from their financial decisions. Shall I say, the website is nothing but CRAP???

I didn't note the web address, but if you put "email Tim Kaine" in the search line, the first link that comes up is his official website. It takes you right to a form where you can email any message you want to him. I've asked my friends and family members all to email him requesting that he ban Payday Loans. I've looked at the different Payday Loan companies on the Better Business Bureau website, and haven't found a single company with a "Satisfactory" record. These places are crooked and deceiving, and they don't give a second thought to taking advantage of people in desparate situations, or people who just don't know any better. They are glorified loan sharks. They hurt our communities, and it's important that we at least voice our opinions to those who can do something about it.
