CASHCALL!!!!!!

I recently replied to a post from Smokey about CASHCALL> I warned about this company on a previous post. This is one dangerous company that is LEGAL!!!! They have a bank backing them and are just as legal as a storefront. They do the installment thing. With the interest they charge you can never dig out from this mess. So BEWARE of Cashcall. I hate those commercials thousands in your pockets in minutes. What they dont tell you its the rest of your life paying it back. KYSIDE38

Yea, I also see them. It says something like thousands with just $200 month payments. What a crock... Laughing

Kyside - thank you for pointing that out to smokeyj - I totally didn't realize CashCall wasn't a payday lender, per se, and that they had bank backing. I checked their licensure in MI, and they're not listed as licensed under the Deferred Presentment section, but that's probably because they have bank backing, so they're not considered a payday lender? I'm just guessing here.

Again, my apologies if I misinformed anyone - that was not my intent. I wasn't aware that CashCall is not a payday lender.

What is the problem with cashcall? I'm thinking about asking for aloan with them. Their ads look to be upfront. Am I missing something?

mizzgrizz - It's definitely not recommended to get a loan to pay off other loans, like payday loans. You'll only end up deeper.

Please search on Cash Call on the Google searchbar on this page - you'll find quite a bit of info on them. They charge outrageous interest rates and will keep you in debt forever.

Isn't there a saying about "if something sounds too good to be true, it usually is"? sounds like this applies to CashCall and don't they have Gary Coleman as their spokesman?

I see their commercials here too and I've hard bad things about them here. They make it seem so good when we know it's not. I know there are so many people falling for the advertisement though. It's too bad because they are just like a pdl in my opinion.

I went to their website to find some $#its and giggles. Their testimonials section is hilarious -- "Phil made my experience at cash call easy and worry free and that is exactly what I needed at that time being in the financial crunch I was in. I felt as though he treated me like we were old friends and really felt like he was on my side."

Do we honestly think any customer really wrote those letters?? I've been working at my job close to 5 years, and NO customer has ever written us a thank-you letter. Could be that my company has bad cust service, but I don't think so. Who on this board has ever written a thank-you letter because they got a loan? The finance company should be sending a thank-you letter to the customer.

When CashCall created their fake testimonials, they should have put a little honesty into it, like "Phil made my experience easy and worry free.. [and then when I missed a payment he so kindly reminded my about it by threatening to have me arrested. Two days later, he very cordially called my boss and explained that I was a deadbeat. Such a nice guy, that Phil!]"

I'm in North Carolina. Payday loan companies are illegal here. However, I have acquired a payday loan back in March 2005 for $200. I've been paying the interest only because I never had the $200 all at once. Finally, about 4 or 5 months ago, I closed that checking account. They are now harassing me with 5 or 6 emails per day but they never send anything to my home address. They've never told me how much I owe them either. I'm sure I've paid them over $700 and haven't paid down the principal at all. These threats are starting to scare me. Can they legally pursue me?
