Has anyone dealt with these "people" with success?
Just recieved something from them, stating I owe them
about $240. I'll be dropping a letter to them pretty quick, CM-RRR of course!

Interesting, in that I getthe notice today, and the letter indicates a settlement date of 02/28/2007.
NOT a verybright move on their part, me thinks!

As always, information much appreicated.
Thanks.

Did they complete the legal debt validation requirements in the letter? It will be a good move to call the original company and ask them about the collection agency hired for the collections. You will be sure of this company collecting on your account and making a legit settlement offer.

No validation letter sent by me, yet. Just recieved this notice today. I'll be requiring validation pretty quick!
and planning on disputing this, if I have the necessity to.

Not planning on dealing with them, since I seriously doubt they'll provide required info! But, that my opinion only.

You should give a call to the original company and see if you are able to work out payment arrangements. The debt will still remain valid until it's paid. You have the choice whether to deal with the original company or the collector, unless they have bought your account. Send the DV letter to the collector and put the ball in their court, legally.
