I sent a complaint to the BBB for the way I was treated when corresponding with NES a couple of weeks ago. The BBB sent NES's response, in which they indicated that the person with whom I spoke told an entirely different story than what I sent to the BBB. They said that I refused to settle the account. I never said that to them; what I did was try to explain to them (NES) that I had been making regular payments on the account, but the person ignored what I said. NES's response to the BBB complaint acknowledged that they received my DV letter and were responding with a written report from the original creditor and that I would receive no further contact from them regarding the account.
I'm feeling like I'm in limbo here. My debt consolidation company should have sent this month's payment on this account; when I found out that NES now holds the account, I had my debt consolidation company send it there. I'm going to check to see if NES accepted the payment today when I get home. I'm really at a loss as to what I do now. Does the letter indicating that I will not receive any contact from NES mean that they'll try to file the civil suit they threatened me with? What do I do next?
